Okay so im wanting to go outside for this year. I know its a late start but where I am its still too cold. Just this last week there were some nigths that got a Low rating of 40*f!
What should be the minimum for night time temps? Whats a good way to go outside and be safe? Would it be better to plant the ladies outside in a bag of soil and then nute from above?
Ive seen this done before but im still hezitant to go outdoors.
If i do im wanting to put my Urkle and WW outside.
When should i look for finishing dates for these strains? Any help is usefull:slide::slide:
:thanks:

High and Welcome i really would love to help you but i dont know very much about outdoor growing but i hear its pretty good. I know someone will help you just give it a lil and good luck on your grow! looking forward to checking it out

Re: Outdoor On teh East Side

From what I understand temperatures below 55 will start to stress the plants and over 95 can also without proper C02 lvls.
I think most people start the plants off inside under lights, then "harden them off" in a window sill slowly introducing them to direct sunlight (its pretty strong stuff for babies). Your idea about using bags or some other form of container is pretty much right on from what I have seen.
I am not sure about outdoor finishing times but if you know the strains you can go to a seed-bank website and get that info if you can determine what "zone" you live in.
I would say if you planned to grow a crop outside and its too cold right now it would be the perfect opportunity to start your plants summer in a little closet somewhere with some cheap CFL's or something, then move them outside in a few weeks once you get some more marijuana friendly temps outside.

Re: Outdoor On teh East Side

right now is the perfect time for planting the herb, unless youre way up north, the seeds can handle some cold temps. i planted a couple seeds a month ago when temps would get to 40 and below freezing some times. shoot, one time i even found a plant growing in the middle of november from some thrown out seeds.
plants your babies, as long as its not freezing cold every night for weeks youll be good. grow that ganja.
luck be with you

Oh it is i just tought it was a pretty good example of an outdoor grow and it has some pretty good info and since he is doing an outdoor grow just tought he could get a pretty good idea

try some videos of brown dirt warrior now thats outdoor growing at it's finest and harvesting during the day outdoors gives harsh buds

Great information guys i really appreciate it.

I would start the babies inside but i dont have a safe closet to do it in. Im relocating and getting used to the new landlord.. the works.

I know of a safe spot outside though. Its surrounded by pine trees so zero visability but also a few taller trees to keep the eye in the sky looking hard. Also there are plenty of flowering trees and bushes to hide the aroma in the air when the girls get close to finishing.

I will try to keep everyone informed but will have a challenging time to maintain and photograph the ladies out in teh wild. Hopefully everthing will go as planned.

If it does work, you guys will be the first to know with bud porn. lol

well let us know how they are doing. Im new to the outdoors so if you have any experience or tips you would like to share im all ears. lol

a field of young pine trees is a great place to plant the herbs. the trees help camo your plants and since they stay green yearlong, no worries about super green plants standing out in the fall. hoping to do the same thing and litter this small field of pines with a bunch of plants.
eBud, are you planting directly to the ground? if so the pine's soil can be really acidic so watch out for that.

greenmokey- no i am going with a gorilla grow tactic i have read about before. Taking either big plastic trash bags, 5 gal buckets or what ill prob do is just use the bag the soil comes in.

Pick your soil, preferable a two month feed plus water retention and some other addatives... maby. Take this soil and dig a hole to just cover teh top of the soil. If it rains you want it to catch rain but not drown the plants. So you try to make it look like there isnt a bag there...

I said a two month feed because ill be putting them out there after i germinate them. So they will be strong but i may just plant two or three seeds per bag to see which terchnnique works best.... i think we all know which will but it would be fun to see.

ill post pics as soon as i get them done, im still debating about it.... its colse to an orchard so smells not a prob but wondering people may be....

Well i have one problem... Hunters. The area i am looking at is close by so i can watch them grow easily. Its also used illegally by some rednecks who like shooting everything... So the cops were called due to shooting within 100yds if a house and after dark. I wonder if there will be any more hunters.
Glad i didnt plant yet, they were a mere 100-150 yrds from where i was looking at.
