Outdoor Growers' Advice please

what size pots do i need for my outdoor grow? and should i place them in a place that's half shade during the hot hours of the day and half sunny during the evenings and mornings? i've been reading a ton of grow journals but its just not giving the advice i want, so can anyone help me? and what would be a good pesticide that i can place around the plant, not in the soil or on the plant but on everything else around the girls.I've heard lady bugs are great for the plant and help keep other bugs from infesting and eating my plants...
