As the likely 2 clutches of Hooded Oriole babies grew along with my plants I watched them take breaks from a nectar feeder to choose tasty insects especially on the Mountain Mahogany they favor-I as well, the tree not the insects at least not yet. Now that the girls have become tall and broad, trees growing together, the birds have taken to dining on them as well. I grow outdoors in Perfect Sun and can afford to leave a bit for other critters too. Now when a tall tree has an avian visitor I cheer her on.
