I have been gardening outside for years, and a downpour of rain is usually not enough to kill even a small plant like in the last pic. It is a weed after all. As long as the temp does not get below 45 or so she will grow, just slower till the temps pick up. Is the umbrella still covering her? she may want more light.
Imo that is a great looking young plant. Seems to be growing at good clip considering length of days and cooler temps at this time of year. I'm sure you see it picking up steam in May with longer, warmer days.
I was lucky and got a sample bag of the Recipe 420 late last year. I like what's in it and that the bag is pretty light weight. I'm going to use it outside too and am real interested to follow how it works for you too. I like EB Stone products, use many of them.
Well water can have either high or low pH, sulfur or not, iron or not, etc. I wish I had well water. I hate that I have to feed everything including me and my pets with fluoride and other insane organophosphate neuro toxins.
pH 7 works, but imo that is about the upper limit. I respect that pH is sacred to many but in my experience growing organically using soil and/or coco, our plant does fine in a fairly wide range of pH. There is a buffering effect that helps maintain pH within an acceptable range.
I had no clue about soil pH when I started growing like your test grow. I just planted in good topsoil and watered. No nutrients or amendments. Crude by today's standards, but I often got lucky. Some grew to over 9' tall. Also no knowledge about topping, fimming, supercropping or other size and shape controls used today. But now I baby my plants like everyone else.
It is more a hobby, sort of like doing bonsai. Fussing is okay provided the fussing is not done constantly during high stress or if the plant is not performing. I have loved many plants to death that way!
Hey, I'm pushing 60 with vision problems. AND, though I love to garden, I no longer like or take pleasure in moving rocks and building a garden. I still have some hardscaping I have to do, but I am considering having that done by a landscaper. I can no longer do such stuff. Nor can Mark. Well, he can he's younger, but I don't want my man spending his life out in my garden on his two days off a week.
This is why I wish he didn't work!
