Hello all, In an effort to maximize yield, what is the maximum amount of light that a plant can effectively use? Is 600 watts too much? :thanks:Thanks.

At least 50 watts a sq ft is good. .more light the better..600 too much..no way..

Plant lighting is measured at the canopy, and the "amount of photons" hitting the plant every second are counted. This is called PPFD or sometimes people call this the "PAR measurement"

Generally for flowering a plant under 12/12 you want between 500 and 1000 PPFD, unless you are using CO2 in which then you can go up to around 1500 PPFD

For optimal conditions you typically want added CO2, about 1500 PPFD and temps between 80-85F.

Number of plants typically doesn't matter when talking about using light. You just need to keep the plant trained under the usable footprint of the light and you can have 1 plant or 10 plants or 100!
