The Story Continues………………………………….……........…………The Punishment.
.
Well the XO kept his word. He came over with his plan on Monday morning to tell us the news. I have to give him credit, he had done his homework.
He started off by asking us if we knew that Fort Monmouth had thousands of civilians working there and that they also needed 8 hours of EO training each quarter. Actually no, we didn't know. Starting the next week on Monday we would fill the Base Theater with 500 people and give them 4 hours in morning and 4 hours in the afternoon, everyday except Fridays. Many civilians were off on Friday..
So we started the next Monday. Poor Sam hated talking to large groups. His blood pressure would go through the roof and after a couple of months he collapsed in the Theater while speaking. He never came back to us and was medically discharged a few months later. We called the OE school and soon as they ran another class, they would send us someone. Everyone was needed where they were.
A couple of months later the XO came in and walked over the Captain and called us to attention. He walked over to the Captain and removed his Captain bars and replaced them with a Majors emblem. Then saluted him and shook his hand. He also told him to be in the Officer Club that night. He was having a party. The XO left and we hugged each other. It was a good day for us teaching wise. The new Major called his wife at noon and told her to get ready for the party that night.
The Story Continues…………….............…..What else I was up to during this time.
