OldMedman Goes Indoors

Hi All! :ganjamon:

Well, I received the Exhale today. That is the C02 we were wondering about and truthfully I'm wondering even more now.

Here is a couple of pictures of it.

Some of you will find this funny, I have the girls in darkness at night, so even though I have checked the Matterhorn for leaking light and I am so paranoid I use a green light at night. Like my cat used to say "Can't be too careful". :yummy: Therefore the green picture. The other is with a flash.

First of all it weighs 10 to 15 pounds. It is supposed to be mounted high over your grow area. If you look at the package it is in, there is a breathing (I want to call it a bandage) hole of sorts. It's maybe a little over 1.5 inches square. Since it can have only that one hole...how do I hang it? My tent has no provisions like that. In fact, I have so many things hanging already, I'm a bit worried that one more thing might bring it all down.
I thought about setting it on a light, but heat and weight tells me that is no good.

Here's what I have done, until I come up with something different.

I have a little 4" intake fan on the bottom left hand of the tent. It's original purpose was to bring air from the floor into the tent and bring in all the low natural C02 that stays close to the floor. So going with that thought I have put the Exhale in front of that fan inside the tent. Hopefully it will take the CO2 that comes out of the breathing hole and circulate it throughout the tent. We shall see. Ideas? Suggestions? :thanks:

There can be no other holes in it's package.

Hey OMM, I've been lurking in the background for a while just enjoying the show and conversation, but wanted to give you a :high-five: for adapting to the indoors so well and getting so much enjoyment from a move that was initially inspired by such a bad circumstance. Way to perservere, Bro!!! :bravo:

Hi there Mr. Krip! :)

Thanks for the high five! My friend the truth is, I don't really persevere as you said....I just hate paying other people for my smoke! :yahoo:

However, I do Thank You!

What about a hanging fruit basket? You know, the wire ones? Perhaps something could be fashioned to hang it on so you wouldn't have to hang it on the actual tent.

Brilliant ! MacMota. :high-five:
That's one of those...slap my forehead kind of things. A prefect idea. I will look for one tomorrow. The book that came with the tent, tells me each bar across the top of my tent will hold 80 pounds. They are so thin I don't trust them. One of those wire hangers should work just fine. I think maybe I should get out more! :thanks:

make a post with a stabilizing base and simply lash it to the post....or put a platform on the top of the post, and set it on the platform. If you can't hang...you stand or sit. Right??:yahoo:

Hey Chopper. :grinjoint:

I think that accessing my memory banks is breaking down. :smokin2:

Both you and MacMota told be things that I should remember. I once did displays for stores for goodness sake. Maybe I'm just lazy or have lived so long I'm permanently high. :lot-o-toke:

I vote for the permanent high thingy myself, sounds like more fun! :) The wire basket idea sounds good. Use a cross beam of pvc our wood to go between your tent frame to distribute the weight if you can. Just a thought. Anxious to see how this works brother. I would have to buy like 5-7 for our room. At that cost, I am looking at CO2 controllers, that actually regulate humidity and temperature as well. I still have to pick up a 4 light controller, instead of using seperate timers for each. Good luck, I will be watching how this works.

I think the cheapest solution is a onion sack or similar type of mesh bag and then tie it to one of the cross supports. I am sure the rods will support it. If they state they are rated for 80lbs, then this shouldn't be a real stress on them.

@GMT, do a Google search for portable propane water heaters. I have one for camping and it looks identical to the "water cooled CO2 generators". I paid $110 for one. The manufacturer is Ecotemp. It has a D cell battery that ignites the propane when it senses water flow, just hook the water pump to your timer and run it through a separate res in a closed loop. Should be an easy fix.

The permanent thingy has it's drawback. You do things like walking in to a room and standing there try to remember what you are there for. Occasionally you for get what day it is. Make that what week. There's more but I can't remember them. :hmmmm:

I think go I'll with wire rack, I can get it to the ceiling with no problem. I will write it down so wont forget it.:)

If this works.....come to think of it...how will I know it's working? My girls are already the picture of health, very green and growing. Ha, maybe the buds will show the difference. Well, I have grown two of them before, so that may help.

This just me...I would go with the C02 controller if it's about the same price for you...and it regulates H too. Sounds nice. That sounds like a good deal one timer for all.
Thanks for your opinions and help. :thanks:

Thanks stevehman, :thumb:

I think your right, after thinking it over they will hold. Thanks, you always come up with something easy. :high-five:

More Pictures!

Every morning they look better...I'm in love! :circle-of-love:

Here's the big girls. I have to put some more CFLs in there until I can get some help to move the light to the ceiling. So the big ones are outside the light at the moment. They can stop stretching now if they want. :yummy:

Kandy looks like she's going to be just like last the last one I grew, I can deal with that. :yummy:

I certainly like to post pictures of these girls...they are so up close and personal now. :ganjamon:

Have a great day all!:peace:

I can imagine right there all day even though your others were outside them being inside i can see how you can get up close and personal with them i can see you being more attached to them.Them sure are some good lookin gals from this point on they will get prettier and prettier and will be interesting to see how much more growth you will get with that co2. Well you said you got about 2 ft stretch on when flowering your lucy that's good mine are between 4 to 6 ft now with about 6 weeks of veg left ill post a couple pics if you don't mind it will bring back memories I know you are fond of them lucys hope all is well with you and yours :thumb: :peace:

Well, Thank You papatater. :)
I think it will be hard to judge the effect of the Co2 on these girls.....unless it is wildly obvious growth. It helps that I've grown two of them before, so I'll have some comparison to judge.

I would love to see your Lucys, Thanks! The Lucy I grew indoors with CFLs was my best yet. I vegged her for 85 days. I was actually trying to veg her to maturity, but things changed and I had to flower her. You probably know this, but a mature plant stops growing limbs equally on both sides of the trunk and start growing them separately. That's a mature plant. I wanted to see if she would still jump. Mine only grew 3" in stretch! :ganjamon:

A note: The C02 is for 6 plants....I have 8, so we will see.

Looking very nice OMM, I am no expert but I think read Co2 is heavier than air so it falls, so keeping it on the floor would not be a good thing. That is if what I remember reading is true, and I am not having one of those stoner moments, I think that basket idea sound like a great solution. Anyway, looking good as usual.

OMM you should be able to notice the co2 on the girls you have grown before... it will be denser and heavier as long as the ppm is at a good lvl. it ir says its good for 6 plants and there are 8 it should be good .... it also depends on the size of the room. made a big difference over night with my two girls in the box.

GMT. I would always recommend having your controllers separate, Ie co2(1), Temp+Rh control(2), Lights(3) etc. the last thing you want is for the controller to go down in the middle of the grow and have it be controlling it all..... if they are separate and the co2 goes its easier to keep growing..... they also tend to be more accurate this way as you want your Co2 regulator as far away from the co2 generator as possible

Omm your ladys look great brother looking forward to watchin them explode!

Hey OMM,

Still lurking...Man those girls look good. Great setup. :bravo:

Anxiously waiting the results. :high-five:

Another way to hang that CO2 bag is just tie a piece of rope or twine around the top of the bag, straighten the breather hole and you're all set. Just another option.

Well here are some pics of my lucys they have been in the ground 6 weeks they will start to flower in 5 to 7 weeks there not the best quality
