I have built my own hydro unit after my 2nd grow. It is powered by 2- 1000watt lights. hps/MH switchable. i have my ph around 6.0 and started off too strong on the nutes at 360ppm. 3 days ago I drained the resivours and refilled with milder solution of 210ppm. my nute temp is never over 78 degrees and is in constant flow using 4- 260 gph pumps that break down into 8 spray nozzles for each of the four tubs that feed 4 plants per tub in 6" net pots filled with clay pellets. I can keep the room at 80 degrees as long as the door is open. the hottest it has gotten is 86 when the window unit broke a week ago. After the nute scare I thought I perfected all the variables but it looks as though my girls are not doing well. I use fox farm grow big hydro. I also have some micro nutes I have not put into the newer mild mix as I think it may have been what helped burn them in the first place.

Well they were burned, I calling it N tox. But could be micro nute tox With the ppm down, doe the new growth seem to be ok, or are you getting that deformed leaf look? If you have that the plant is working it out and should be fine at lower ppm.

If okay then they should come back with the change. That curl leaf is N tox textbook. But with the direct non-buffered nutes in your medium of hydrocorton, they may have been locked-out, after the ppm went up.

cool thanks man. so do you think I am safe now? I noticed the yellowing of the old growth most recently. since I have attempted to fix the other problems by using less nutes the older leaves have started to turn yellow. All the new growth looks good tho. but should it still be yellowing the old growth, do I still have a problem?

Well that could be respiration of the the remaining crap out of there. I thought that the ppm you quoted was low, and that will cause N def first thing in those older leaves.

Are the new growth parts appearing to be almost neon green? If so, that's not N def that's N attrition, and the N needs to just get edged up a bit. The difference from attrition to def is where there is some soluble N or NO available N. I bet there is some but not enough for the medium.

I would stay at the lower PPM and watch the new growth. Then if the it remains to the older fans your okay.

What a finicky little group.

Nute temp shouldn't be over 68 or you will have problems. Fox Farm nutes do best if you use the three Grow Big, Big Bloom, and Tiger Bloom. That way you get all the nutes needed. pH should be a bit lower around 5.6 to 6.0... so you should be ok with that.

First thought is over fertilized, nute burn. I'd back off and run straight pH'd water for several days. Then see if that helps. If it does, then start the nutes back at half strength and slowly increase to what Fox Farms says (unless you see nute burn come back)
