Could aquarium waste water be used in my indoor gro. I have 1 cold fresh water tank and 3 heated tropical's. I do frequent water changes . I add aquarium salt, and only use organic treatments. I thought maybe this water could be used. Thirsting for knowledge :peace: out

Very helpful info from Spimp, cjkstone.
I would recommend staying away from using the waste water from the tropical tank due to the salinity, however I think the waste water from the fresh water tank would be alright. Any idea of the PH of the fresh water?

Thanks guys , the tropical tanks are not salt water tanks, there just heated for certain tropical fish, I do use or treat all the tanks with aquarium salt on water changes, three of the tanks are high ph, a natural condition of are tap water no ph down has ever worked with these tanks, but i have a 60 gallon breeder tank with normal ph the substrate in this tank changes the ph level to neutral. It looks like we will give this waste water a shot, I really love how people are so ready to help a guy out ,

Hi cjkstone :ciao:

You could use some lemon juice to bring the ph down.

My water is 6.8 from the tap and I don't adjust it.

The dirtier the water, the better for the plants,

so squeeze your filter into the siphoned water as well :thumb:

Water from breeding fish is best :)

LOL. I love that line from the 10 commandments movie. My wife and I use it all the time.

Thanks Ricorico for pointing the direction. Let it be written, Let it be done
