hi converted to led 2 crops ago, have been using general hydroponics nukes and getting leaf burn when using their suggested levels. This current crop ive reduced the concentration by 20% . Has anyone else experienced different nutrient needs when using leds as compared to hps? thanks john

With LED you can cut down on the nutrient level, since the plants don't seem to transpire as fast as HPS/MH, and LED seems to make the plant not use nutrient as fast either. The nutrient feeding charts from any manufacturer will be maximum in perfect conditions, I learned this from helping a friend with DWC and he opted for a 300w LED.

In Veg we ran a 350-550ppm (EC 0.7 - 1.1), and in flower we ran 550-800ppm (EC 1.1 - 1.6) (DWC & Coco) and that seemed to be the sweet spot with the strain & LED. Start at 1/4 strength in Veg and work your way up to 1/2 strength in Flower and see how that works for you. Also you will usually need to supplement Cal-Mag when using a LED. With LED the plant will be more brittle and not as pliable as with HPS/MH, so things snap off easier just FYI. :peace:
