What's up fellow 420Mag users? This will be a journal of my first grow. Being a novice grower, I am looking for constructive criticism and tips to help me improve.

Indoor or outdoor: Indoors
Pots used: 3 in solo cups/ 3 in petemoss pots.
Room size: 4x4x6.5
Light source: 2x Mars Hydro 300w (135-140 true watt)
Light schedule: 18/6
Light height: 27inches from top of seedlings
Strain: Unknown
Number of plants: 6
Reg,auto, or fem?: Regular
Room temp 65* F
Humidity: unknown
Soil or hydro: Soil (FFOF)
Veg or flower: Veg
Air cooled?: just an oscillating fan
Nutrients: Fox Farm trio, CalMag
Type of water: RO Phd to 6.5
This journal started 10 days after breaking soil.

All seedlings are currently on day 10 after breaking soil.
Currently only using one 300w until plants age some more.

I need some advice on what to do.today marks day 17. I am now down to 3 plants. I tossed all the ones in petemoss pots due to extreme slow growth. The other 3 I feel are still very small for their age. Humidity was at mid 40 to 50 so I went and purchased a humidifier and now am sitting around 70.

Soil runnoff in transplant containers is at 6.8

Temps are kept in the 70s for the most part.

How do these look for their age? Small? And what do you think could be causing the deformed and spotted leaves? Anything helps! Thank you

Here is the plants on day 24! First feeding was yesterday and the the leaves were pointing to the light which I've read is a good sign the plants are happy. I've also recived a few new strains I'll be adding to this grow. I've got 3 Damnesia fem seeds and one auto pounder from bonza seeds. The new seeds are soaking in water.

Here is the smallest one. I haven't decided weather to chop this or wait? Opinions?

And here's the biggest. The growth is fast but it looks sick.

Still open to comments and suggestions. Today is day 31.
Growth has exploded since last Monday when they got the first feeding of fox farm nutes. Today was the second feeding.

I have 3 new fem seeds in the Damnesia strain that just popped soil as well as an auto pounder.

These bigger plants are gonna be in veg until the Damnesias show sex and then I'll switch to 12/12
How do I go about feeding those extra 4 weeks? I'm following fox farms soI'll nute feeding schedule.

Well here's a short update on the plants. This week is just an auto pilot week. They were fed Phd RO water with cal mag added. Have not seen any of the older plants show sex but I'm expecting to see in the next week or so. The seedlings are loving life right now.

Alright so today is day 45 for the bigger plants they are looking very healthy and seem to put on a half inch in height each day!
This one still has not shown sex

Here's the seed the I'm 80% sure is purple kush

Showed sex last week! A girl!!!.

Hey everyone! I've been debating on purchasing another light for flowering. I'm stuck between a 400w hps with a cool tube or another 300w led (130 true watts). With another led, the total watts would be 390. I need some help deciding on what to go with.

This is my first grow AND I am working on a tighter budget than you. Only one Mars 300 that I am supplementing with CFLs. As far as your decision to buy a third lamp... I would go with another Mars or even a high watt cfl before the HPS but I am partial. Looking through the journals I have seen a lot of growers have success mixing LED's with CFLS. Why throw all the energy savings you are getting with your LEDs out the window by throwing a HPS in there with em?

Thanks for viewing my grow! I have definitely been leaning towards another led. Energy consumption is not an issue for me. I pay the same rate year round for my electricity. The reason I'd try hps is for yeild. I'm looking to have at least a QP if not more in the direction of a HP after its dried and cured. I honestly didn't think of adding some CFLs in the mix. Definitely something to keep in mind! I'll be heading over to take a look into your grow after this .

What's up everybody?!? Earlier today I pulled the trigger on a new led to add while flowering. The total true watts in the tent is now 455. This hobby has turned out a little over my starting budget but I hope it'll all work out in the end with a sizeable harvest. My goal is to get .75g per watt (a total of 341 Grams dry between 5 female seeds and one autoflower) So i ask all the veteran LED grower, is that a reasonable expectation? Thanks everyone!

Ok so I'm on day 52 with the 2 larger plants. Weeks keep passing and the largest of the bunch has yet to show sex. Even the autoflower has shown sex lol

Thank you to everyone that has put some input so far!

I started week one nutes on the Damnesias. I'm hoping I can veg for 3 more weeks and then flip them all to flower. Not sure if they will be mature enough by then tho. Now on to the pics!

That's all I got this week everyone! The new light should be here the 28th. I think adding an extra 200 true watts in flower will really pay off at harvest time. Please feel free to comment. I like to hear from other growers.

Thanks for stopping by again CannaKitty! Growth exploded for the big ladies almost right after removing the runts from the bunch a few weeks back. Starting to wonder how hard it'll be to contain the big ladies under the scrog net. Being on the edge of 3 weeks left of veg, all the plants are getting LST and some demolition.

Feedings have went very well. By accident, I gave my auto a feeding of full strength FF big bloom I was feeding my Damnesias, but no sign of problems. .

I'm doing nutes every other watering for the bigger ladies and nutes every water for the small ones. PH runoff is at 6.6-6.7

What goin in 420 mag? Today is 59 for the big ladies! The Damnesias are growing like crazy! With being in a 4x4, I'm debating switching to flower next Sunday or the Sunday after that to be able to manage them under the scrog.


The auto ponder is shooting up everyday with new pistols and even fatter stems.

Decided to take a dab before getting started to get the juices flowing lol

What up everyone?? I'm here to do a quick update on the garden. I'm super busy today so It'll be short and sweet.

Last week of veg for all the ladies ends next sunday. I had to repot the biggest of the bunch. Upon taking it out out of the old pot I noticed it was extremely root bound.

Here's a pic of how I managed to level the canopy out. Hoping the scrog will be dense with buds.

The autoflower in the front should be done in about a month from now. I will be switching to skunk labs bloom nutes after next week.
