Noob doing outside grow 5 gallon

Hey Guys,

So im doing my first outside grow.

I have recently Purchased a bag of FF Ocean Soil, and wanted some pointers and help.

I was going to purchase 5 Gallon Buckets today about 8 of them. Someone referred me to Smart Pots, over Nursery Pots, i wanted some opinions, as well thoughts on this move. I was gonna put the Nursery Pots on some Saucers.

With 5 Gallons how often do they need to be watered, and when should i change nutes. I am currently testing a DWC system which is easy to do,(flush and new nute induction).

Also with FF Soil ive been told its loaded with Nutes already so the plant wont need to be fed until 3-4 weeks from now.

I already have a PH Meter through Hanna but i was told that a Soil Blue Labs meter would be needed as well. Any Thoughts on this?

As far as Nutes go, this is what i was recommended.

^ These seem to get a little pricey (AN), so i was wondering what everyones thoughts where on the list provided to me. Ive done a little research but not sure about the Heavy Harvest stuff and wanted to get some feed back.

Im growing in heat box out here it gets to 100-120 in the Summer here, some im starting early.

Need help ASAP

Looking into 5 Gallon Pots roughly about 6 - 8 Of them.

Purchased FF Ocean Soil Bag. EzeMite, and Mykos Yesterday. I was given a Free Cha Ching From FoxFarm

Wanted peoples Mix blends I.E. if you are using worm caster, Dolomite Lime, Peralite etc. What is the Ratio?

Wanted to know if the Mix would be to hot and would need to be rinsed?

If so.

How do you flush soil, and when can you transplant? Also wanted to get people thoughts on Nutrients. I know i wrote something about AN Liquid nutes. But it seems a bit crazy to go all out with that stuff for an outdoor run. Wanted to know if anyone used any top feeding time released Ferts? If so which ones and how do you like them? If im going to do roughly 8 of these babys from Clones, How often should i be watering? Sorry for the questions first time outdoor.

We'll im on my 1St outdoor grow too and I don't really know anything about the nutes part so were in the same boat when it comes to that, but I took some clones off my female when she was between 2 and 3 ft tall maybe? About 3 months old? But I think the mother has to have Atleast 5 nodes, but don't quote me on that. I know so far mine are doing fine and they are about a week an a half old. Hope I help Atleast alittle!

I would really go with the smart pot love them and would look at the 15 to 25 gallon size the plant has longer life cycle outdoors than indoors so the roots need room to spread and support this big plant. As for nutes That is all up to you or you could build your own soil, but wanting to get things rolling find a good nutrient line you like and just follow their charts and adjust as needed. Adjustments in soil do not happen as quickly as they do in hydro so keep that in mind best of luck out there in the hot box, I feel yah there, OG

Get a good quality soil and do your own blend and it will run the course for you other wise the soil will have nutrients for about three to four week depending on your plant, So if all you are going with is FFOF then get some nutrients to take it along through veg and flower. OG
