Strain 'o the Day 7/8
Hulkberry
Royal Queen Seeds

Growers Notes:
What do I remember about these? We went 3/3, one went in a SIP two to Airpot solos. They were a little slow when very small and then pushed on. One went much bigger and two the same size. The bigger one is now in the main grow in a 5 Gallon. Of the two that remained one was slightly better looking. That went in an airpot and the other went in a SIP. I favoured the Airpot with this strain as I'd favoured the better Royal Gorilla for the SIP - even out the comparison between the two styles. When the one went in the SIP it just stalled and never really recovered. Pythium (sp?) I gave her a real go at recovering. flushed with H2o2, repotted but my efforts were to no avail. Pretty gutted. By that point the biggest one was just too big to repot into a solo so we just have one. This (Bruce Banner) was the first we ever grew, albeit from clone. Looking at her today she has a similar look, not very symmetrical at all. Her sister upstairs the same. Other than that pretty normal but very thirsty always. High hopes for yield - we got 480g from the two we grew before. Will watch out for some nanners we had non fully formed ones before (they had actually had some light stress) but others here have had them as well without. Little bit prone to them I think.

Strain Notes:
So although named Hulkberry here its actually Bruce Banner #3 I loved it first time out. I was just starting to smoke again so lower tolerance then but it was a blast. Really buzzy sativa, super productive could work. We called it Limitless as the market was full of Bruce Banner and ours was really good. Feedback was really good. That's more a smoke report, though, isn't it?
OG Kush x Strawberry Diesel. 3 different pheno types - #1 50/50 parents #3 More OG Kush and #5 more strawberry Diesel. They say this which confused me a bit with #'s Ours look like whatever we had before. That was definitely more sativa leaning 60-40 probably. 9-10 weeks flower and THC to 28% Originally from Colorado. Here's some bumpf from RQS don't normally bother with them but the line about having tolerance to get the creative high - very much so!
The impact from just a few tokes of this herbal Hulk is phenomenal. HulkBerry turns into a monster upon combustion. Sparking a spliff is more like lighting the fuse of a rocket. Each lung full of brain fog takes you ever higher. HulkBerry hits you with a familiar earthy-fuel flavoured blast off, but just when you’re expecting to descend back toward earth, the second stage rockets ignite for a voyage to the final frontier. While your body below is busy licking its lips and savouring the sweet and sour aftertaste, your mind journeys deeper into outer space. Veterans may have the tolerance to exploit the creative potential of the high. Most will enjoy a lengthy, happy head trip.
I really like this strain - guess you always remember your first time so may she beast out quicksticks so I can reacquaint myself.

Maximum yield from any 4x4 space I would say is about 2 pounds at max light
The next grow in this tent I'm swapping the light for an 800w LED because I've probably killed a couple of species off with my carbon foot print using the 1000w HPS here. I'm doing a single SCROG'd SIP and aiming for 1000g - 2lb 4oz to test the other extreme. There though I have a strain that claims 1-1200g indoor and 1500g outdoor. Nicole Kush 2.0 It almost feels like a typo those yield numbers so we'll see. Doesn't seem like anyone has heard of it which doesn't fill me with confidence!

What you need my good man, is to track grams/day after the harvest is dried. Grams per day (above ground) will always let you know if you were better off with a long veg on a big plant or a short veg on a bunch of little ones.
Ah, Mr Shed, a pleasure as ever, old chap. For the first time I'll be able to do that, I actually have a spreadsheet for this grow, there are 3 different phases of plants in terms of when they were popped where I was trying to get them to harvest as close together as possible - plus two different grow styles so I'll be able to do it all individually and get an average. The columns are in waiting to be filled - I remembered you mentioning it before. i can divide through by my electricity bill then as well which may be less fun!

Strain ‘o the Day 9/9
Mimosa x Orange Punch
@Barney's Farm

Growers Notes:

I’m excited about this one. 3/3 and in the last phase of popping as she’s short at 8 weeks. All popped quick all straight forward. Tails in a day gave them another 12 hours and left them to it. All identical all lovely - until one of them went a bit bean pole - the one in the tent with the one below. She’s growing vertically and has the same number of nodes but they haven’t really kicked on yet. Weird. For comparison after I also have a picture of the one that went in the main grow. She’s very pretty! There was some very gusty wind when I took the first two pictures. Day #41 from pop.

Strain Notes:

Mimosa Evo x Orange Punch - a very new strain - Evo is only 3 years old. 35% Sativa and 65% Indica. 55-60 Days flowering, short flowering and short in stature as indoor heights of 70-80cm yet up to 750g/sqm and THC of up to 30% oh and she’s mad pretty, purple and orange. Our next big grow we’ll do at least 30% the room with these unless we run into any problems with these 3 - maybe even the beanpole one if she’s produces as its a nice compact shape!

So that’s all 9 strains that make up our sweet 16 in Solos. I guess ai’ll check back in when they’re bagged and weighed 🤣

From one Barney’s Farm to another. Auto Strawberry Cheesecake.

I’m quite hopeful of an ok yield out of this one. She’s on Day #41 and been in flower for 5-7 days. Indicated at 80 days so halfway and budding up - I mean not like those of an Auto Practitioner of such skills as @Jon but gotta start somewhere. 😅

Thanks Stone!

Feels like I’ve cracked the environment with this crazy tent indoor/outdoors and crazy light. Been a fun journey but in theory I can replicate it every day of the year +/- a bit each way. Feels very cool!

Literally actually because outside the tent is 32c and 80% Rh 😅

Maximum yield from any 4x4 space I would say is about 2 pounds at max light and parameters met average yield is between 6 and ten ounces every 4x4 area or so. Let's see who chimes in next. @InTheShed
Which at 2 pounds is 8 ounces per 2 square feet. Which is very high yield.
My best runs been around 3 pounds in a 4x4. Best yield with SCROG was somewhere around 1300-1400g, almost 3 pounds, that's with 1200w HID. 1.5-2g per watt of light used is not uncommon with a high yielding strain in a dialed in hydro grow.

I've only had about 5 cycles with LED's so far but they have higher potential in terms of yield and potency.

How many plants did you plus those 13-1400g with? Its my pet thing at the moment!

I usually ran perpetually with 4 sites in rotation. My best runs were with 4 cuttings in DWC. The main positive with Aero is that you can cut down veg time even further compared to other hydro methods.

I got jealous looking at your AirPots all the time so I got five 7s to use next time. Lol!!

Girls all looking fiiiine, but jeez they pile on the pounds in the form of leaves quick. My Bloom PK from DP (but wow its expensive) is only recommended from week 3 of flower. We’re on Day #10 I think. Need to check. As a balance as we have the Strawberry cheesecake budding up I bought a store general fruit and flower one and put it at half the suggested, the fed them at Ph 5.5 because I’m like that. They should love it. Fingers crossed eh? Nothing really showing too much sign of flower yet. Maybe the Slurricane in the third shot ready to go.

Everything seems like smooth and steady sailing apart from the Gorilla still the same bright green and thin leaves. But some signs of flower on her so lets see how it goes. I’m not sure what’s left to try - she’s a SIP so I can feed separately really easy if anyone has a suggestion but its been so long now, a month? I’m just like huh she’s still doing it. Shrug.

Day #45 Auto
Day #10 Flip

The Buddening has come. Which is pretty cool. Really picked up even since yesterday. They’ll need a trim tomorrow or Wednesday for sure. Also forgot to feed them twice today. Which is pretty clever 😅 Just one quick snatched photo.

Still so long until I can switch off that fkin money trap of an HPS can begin to harvest a bountiful crop, born of love and affection for mother earth and all the wonders in her nature.

Going to try and drop the pallet a couple of inches and raise the light by about an inch. That 3” I think will be really valuable. Probably when we trim and rearrange.

Hey, you were warned. Don't blame us. Some people just won't listen...

Action:

[Narrating during their final game] Doyle Brunson says" the key to no limit is to put a man to a decision for all his chips"
I chopped one of his legs off in the first hand now all I have to do is lean on him until he falls over

So the Royal Gorilla in a SIP has been bugging me. Waste of space, gonna yield zero so I had an experiment. Which ai’ve documented with photos below.

IMG_5613.jpeg

Thin nasty yellow leaves.

IMG_5612.jpeg

Uhh dude, where’s my res? She stank too. So I sliced her open down the side as well

IMG_5615.jpeg

Rock hard with roots. This was bathing in H2O2 water trying to get the coco out as well to loosen her but she’s rock hard. Stabbed her a lot with a wooden skewer. Round the sides and on top. She didn’t seem to mind…
image.jpg

But then I had just cut 1/3 of a solo cups worth of roots off her, shock perhaps.

And I gave her a new home.

IMG_5617.jpeg
IMG_5618.jpeg

And popped her in a bit of space to get some light. Apart from a little at the bottom I didn’t really get any more medium in there. I’m hoping over the next few hours she’ll expand into the gap she has around her in the cup now but I hit that ball against the floor and it wasn't breaking up.

If it dies it dies. I’m sanguine about it. Probably should have done this 2 weeks ago. Never mind.
