Newbie Question about setting rockwool in net pot

This is probably a trivial question but this is my first DWC and don't want to F*** it up. I'm ready to put the clones (in rock wool) in the net pot bucket lid but was not sure if most people set the clone in the net pot directly (sitting on the plastic), and then put hydroton on top, or put a layer of hydroton down first and then set the clone on top of the hydroton.

Maybe I'm over thinking it too much but like I said want to make sure I do it right.
