Hello 420magazine Forum,

I am just now getting a chance to make an account on here. I am just now starting my first homegrow set up, hopefully I could get good feedback and info from you all.

I recently made my own grow box from a DIY source, I'm currently using two 18 gallon storage tubs, light fixtures with 3 60wat CFL each. I lined the inside of the Tubs with Aluminum foil. I also have a 12mm case fan to control humidity levels during the evening...

I am not fostering two sprouts, I'm assuming one is of each type Indica and Sativa. They are bag seed that I've kept for YEARS, 15+, I was actually shocked anything sporuted...I literally went through 10 before one was good enough. And the second was just a blessing....these are my children, so I will definitely be comming in here if anything goes wrong...lol

One I have directly in a Pot with a mixture Organic Soil Mix, and indoor potting soil. The other sprouted in a Peat disk. , they are about two weeks strong now. NO Nutes

Now how Tha hell do I post pictures:thanks:

:ciao: Murry! Show us what ya got!

Hi MurryJuana,

Welcome to 420 Magazine and community of folks that gathers here. I know you'll find the members to be supportive and sincerely interested in your success, and site to be an invaluable resource!

Be well and happy growing.

I suggest starting a journal for us to see and answer questions on the fly. Are you cfls 60 watts equivalent or at the wall? That's definitely plenty. I used 2 23watt (100w equivalent) for the first 4 weeks of my auto grow for each plant. With y splitting them I could safely have 4 for each plant. These are the regular size cfls though. Post your journal link here so we can zone in and be of assistance

Ok, finally got some kind of pictures up, here they are...first set is a little glimpse of my DIY Homegrow Box, the others are of my babies....the later pictures are open for identifying the species of Cannabis...fee free to give me any feed back, based on what you see. THANX guys

I can see the species a little better, one has Thicker leaves the other has thin leaves, the one with Thin leaves is a little lighter in color, but I have her in a Peat plug for now...tell me what you think

Very cool! What happens when they get bigger? Will you move them to a different setup, or try for a microgrow where they are?
As for picking the strain, somebody will have to be a Jedi Ninja Cannabis Guru to pull that off.

Lol a Ninja Jedi Cannabis Guru, nah I jus wanted to see which would be Sativa or Indica.

It's a MICROgrow I'm shooting for 4 plants total, the planted peat plugs have sprouted seeds in em, so I'm jus waring for those to pop up, then I will transfer to individual pots

My main concern is watering during this phase, as the pots are big and retain moisture, every few days I will water from a shot glass but that's it, and to moisten the sprouted peat plug

In that case, I'll take a shot: In your last three thumbnails, the first is Indica dominate. The second more Sativa. In the third, that puts them in opposite order = Sativa on the left and Indica on the right. But at this point they could be almost anything.

Good, a mutual opinion, yes strictly basing it on leaf shape, but I have to watch the Sativa because she looks pretty light....I have my CFL 10" away from the pots, I am on a 18/6 light schedule, from 3 am to 10 am I have the light at half 2 CFL, 10am to 9pm I increase the light on 4 CFL. Then at night I use my Box fan (this usually knocks off the humidity and gives a simulated night breeze) and turn off the light from 9 pm to 3am again....it's easy for me to monitor because I work 3rd shift and I can literally stretch the day schedule...

Hopefully my girls make it through with this regimine, I started infusing Blood meal in the soil and water, so I'm hoping that will help with their growth, actually my Indica looker is getting better meal because she is in her own pot...I used infused water for the Sativa looker in the peat plug.

So far so good for my first set up...I think

I would not add any nutes at this point - including blood meal.
Seeds have everything they need to grow for the first few weeks. Your organic soil probably has food in it, as well. Blood meal can easily burn plants, especially babies.
How big are your pots? Your little ones look far enough along to not need water or anything until the pots begin to dry out. It is a delicate balance for the first couple of waterings.
IMO, 10" is wayyyy too far away for CFLs. They will stretch. I keep mine 1" - 2" away. Also, use all the lights all the time the lights are on. More is better in this case.

:Namaste:

10-4, so i will more than likely NOT touch them in any way except deal with the lighting for the next week, my peat plugs have sprouted, so i have options , JUST incase things go arry with my older plants. but so far they look good, they arent reaching/streaching so i will kep them as is, and keep an eye on them, as for the BM, its not an awful lot. but since its in my ELDEST plant pot, i think it will benifit, it is actually growing pretty rapidly, Ill keep you guys posted as progress goes along. Thank you for your attentive feedback Major PITA

My current progress of my chirren
You can clearly see who is the strongest out of the older pots and the younger sprouts.... 3 weeks in.

The yellow is from previous light burn, but they have bounces back, the smaller of the biggest plants is a slow grower even tho they are the same age, about 2 weeks, the sprouts are a week old but at diff stages of growth, but you can also see out of the four which is strongest...

My humidity level is pretty high, but the light schedule is still 18/6,

Gonna transplant the smaller of the older to a clay pot from the ceramic pot...note ceramic pots hold more water
