New to soil need advice

Hi,
Im Currently in the process of making a Low Budget pc grow case,
(Pc Grow Box- Stealth Pc Grow Case)
Due to me not having 200 GBP to spend on a lousy case that anyone with a logical mind and a bit of commonsense can build ,
Im Looking for some pointers really,

I've done this sort of thing on a scale of 36 plants per room from clones so i know the basic's of Hydro but im new to the soil scene and was hoping to get some advice, being i live in the UK,

Im going to LST the plants,

so:

What's the best CLF's to use for Veg and flowering?
Should i use a Carbon?
Should i use Seed or Clone? (Does not matter to me i can get hold both easy)
What Soil Would you recommend?
what Nutrients?
Or Should i Stick to what i know best? Hydro?

so yea some advice would be Cool xD
