Hello, I'm having a problem with one of my seedlings, it's growing in promix hp under a 400w mh. Room temp is good. I do have low humidity issues. Currently sitting at 27%. I've been giving light waterings with declorinated tap water. Ph is roughly around 7.5-8.0

I have not given any nutes yet but I use the the basic general organics nutes.
I'm wondering if this is a deficiency or not. All my other seedlings are looking healthy.

Ok, so I did some more testing of my ph, I'm just using a liquid ph kit as I don't have a ph pen yet. And this is what I got for all my curent water options.
Which would be the best way to go?
Picture 1. Is straight from the tap
Picture 2. Is tap water that has stood for a couple days
Picture 3. Is filtered tap water, just through a small drink filter.

What I've found very quickly from Promix is you should be looking at a range of 5.5 to 6.2. Pretty sure that is correct, so the yellow one. Promix isn't normal potting soil, and PH changes depending on the stage of growth. I would think you could go to their website and get a growing schedule. I don't know if Promix has more than one type of grow medium. You should double check my figures. Please let me know what you find.

For promix they state that the starting ph of most of there mediums is 5.4 to 5.8
And to water with 5.5 to 6.2. Any higher than 6.2 they say I'll have micro nutrient lockout.
I'm going to invest in a proper ph pen and some ph adjuster cause I can't be using a little water filter when the are drinking more. And even so that filtered water looks to be bordering on being to high anyways, according to their numbers ,no?

Edit
I watered with some of the filtered water and PhD some of the runoff. It appeared to be In an acceptable range. So I'm still not sure what's going on with my little lady.

jag88 you can adjust the water ph. Check out phdown, vinegar, lemon juice as ways to reduce the ph a little more
Yes I'm going to invest in something for sure. I thought I could get away with not being to picky about the ph because of the ph adjuster in the medium.

PH pens are around $15. Seedlings need very little other than light, air, and water. 90% of the development happens with the roots. Make sure your soil dries out before you water again. It encourages the roots to stretch. You can mist the leaves, if you like.:cheer:

So my problem has been progressing. The first set of affected leaves have already withered and died. Now the next set of leaves are affected as well. My runoff ph is within the acceptable range for my medium so im not sure what is causing this or how to treat it. Also the seedling looks slightly yellow compared to my others. Any advice on what to do next?

It would help if you posted some pics of the whole plant. The leaf above looks like its got dirt on it? How did that happen? Are there any signs of pests in the soil, bite marks under the leaves, flying around?

I do have low humidity issues. Currently sitting at 27%.

Should be much higher 55/65% RH

The damaged leaves will not repair themselves. Is it still progressing or has it stopped? What is your runoff ph? I had the same issue a week ago and my runoff was 5.2. A bit low for soil. So I ph'ed my water to 6.8 and after a week, they are exploding with new growth and are very happy. Runoff after a week is 6.2. Damaged leaves can be removed but I'd wait a couple of weeks since your plants are still very small. Don't want to shock them too bad.
Hope this helps.
