New England Outdoor Growillas

Whats up, Im new to posting on this site, but have been visiting for a while and have learned quite a bit here. I wanted to start a thread for outdoor growers in N.E. Im wondering what strains everyone is growing. As for me, I grow 4 way and ppp indoors. Last year I grew 4 way but lost the majority of it to the dreaded bud rot.:helpsmilie: Im looking for some advice on some good early finishers that maybe some of you have tried with success in our area. Thanks in advance for any help, and also maybe we can keep this going through the 09 season.:peace::thanks:

I was thinking of expirimenting on a spring crop as well this year. Not sure if its possible, but Im gonna start flowering indoors and move them outdoors asap in the spring. Hopefully, I will be able to harvest a small crop of decent buds before they revert back to veg. Any thoughts?

I used to live in NE but was not growing then. Are you sure once the nights are actually warm enough that you will have time to finish up outdoors before the days get too long? I know it can get quite chilly at night and even during some days in NE. I have experienced blizzards in early April. if you have the light setup you can always move back indoors once the nights are too short. Or find a away to light proof your plants outside, which can be challenging to say the least. How about some auto-flowering strains outdoors?

I don't know how it would do up there, but Greenhouse supposedly has a mold resistant strain in The Church.

Thanks guys, I've never tried the spring crop deal before, but I figure I've got about 30 seedlings of 4 way that are about a foot tall indoors now. I am thinking that at the very least, if I give them a jump start of flowering indoors, I should be able to harvest a good portion of the plants and maybe even leave them to reveg for a fall harvest as well.
Since this is really just an expirament, allthough I have HIGH hopes, if it fails, I will have plenty of plants that will be grown reguarly. Anyone try this spring crop this far north?

im not sure if i understand ? your trying to get to crops this year outdoors ? what do u mean spring harvest ?

also the endless sky i was talking about if planted by seed on may 5th will be done by early september

what im saying is, it will flower when I switch to 12hrs of darkness indoors, in early spring, the light cycle is close enough to 12 hrs of darkness to keep it flowering for hopefully long enough to get in some buds. I know this is possible, Im just not sure if it can be done in sothern ne. Another thought I had was to do what I just said, but keep them in a tight area that I can cover for 12 hrs at the end of spring to make sure they dont revert back to veg. Obviously, I would rather not have to do that, but most likely it would only have to be for the last couple of weeks. Sorry for rambleing, but I think if this can be done, it can help out alot of northern growers to avoid harvesting in the wet cold fall up here. U know?

alrite man. you cant pm unless you have posted alote ? i didnt know that :smokin::smokin::smokin:

make sure yoiu wait for the cure it will be much better. ;) you should get a couple pics up of your babies.

:rollit:Ya BigGreen, I guess you need 50 posts to be able to pm. I dont have the cord to hook my cam to comp, so pics would only be poor quality phone camra shots. I think I cant post attachments yet anyway. But I'll see what I can do for when I can.

I gave the four way a 2 week cure, tastes great, hard to describe though. Not the most potent smoke, but very sociable uplifting high. Great daytime smoke! Better than any other stuff around.

Im also working on a perpetual 6 plant 2 week rotation indoors, but its just begining. kind of a small sea of green type of deal.

Ive been growing it for a couple years. Weed World Mag recently had an article in their "My favorite pot" section. I just grew ppp for the first time, and I think the four way is better. But its all in what you like, plenty of flavors. Not really a big commercial strain, decent yeilds, but nothing too crazy.

Ya I enjoy it, and I accidently left a male around too long and it pollinated a patch last year, so now I cot a lifetime of good beans!
