Hi, I'm a new grower and just running into problems. I am growing girl scout cookies auto. Medium is 50/50 mix ocean forest, happy frog with about 20% extra perlite added. Three gallon fabric pots. This is the start of week 5. Four days ago plants were looking ok, besides a little yellowing and rust spots on the lower oldest leaves. The pots were really really dry, it had been 5 days since last watering. So I watered maybe a gallon each. Purified water with 5 ml cal mag per gallon 6.3 pH. The next day plants were drooping and wilted. I figure I gave too much water. Since then have been waiting for them to dry out hoping they would come back but has just gotten worse. This has been 4 daysnow. I stick my finger in the soil and it feels completely dry. Also lift pot and is really light. I figured they would have perked back up by now. Hopefully someone here can tell me what I need to do. Also the yellowing and rust spots are getting worse.. I have tried to research what it could be but some deficiencies seem to have the same symptoms. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Have only been giving ph'ed water and cal mag b cause I thought the ocean forest was going to be enough for the first month. I was going to start feeding the tiger bloom from the fox farm trio next watering since they are now in flower. But now I'm afraid to give more water now b cause imediately after watering last they wilted like this. They honestly looked good b fore that. They probably are ready for a good feeding but like I said I'm scared to give more water now till they perk back up. Here is a pic just a few days b fore this happened. Thanks again for any advice

I used to think the same thing about the super soils but the plants just seem to eat up the nutrients quickly. You could balance the pot slightly up on one end for a few days to try to drain some of that water and then feed the poor girl and she will thank you.Have only been giving ph'ed water and cal mag b cause I thought the ocean forest was going to be enough for the first month. Do I need to wait till the leaves perk back up before watering again. Or just when the pot is dry. Because the pot is very light now and I can stick my finger in soil and feels dry too. Prior to this watering I had just been giving about a liter of water per pot. Then I missed a couple days and I guess I thought they needed the extra water so gave more and the next day they looked terrible. But I guess that is how you learn by screwing up. Also do you still run super soil. I was thinking of going with nature's living soil on next try but not sure. Thank you again very much for your help.

I used natures living soil for my grow at the beginning of this year and I ran into the same problems that you did I had to start feeding my plants about week three because they ran out of nutrients. If the pot is really light and you feel like that it’s dry then go ahead and try to feed her and give her some water and see if that helps and if it doesn’t help then you know deep down the soil was still too wet. I had to do trial and error like that with mine and I’m still figuring it out.
Might help to elevate them above the floor with a grate and fan moving air under them. 3 gallons is pretty small for flowering…. if you have a spare fabric pot then you could fill it with soil and stack your plant on top of it. Roots should grow thru the bag into the new soil but its kinda late since new root production slows in flower
