Need help choosing lights for 8 sq ft area

Hello I am new to forum and looking for help figuring out what light would be recommended for a 8 sq ft box. The box is 48 " tall. Traditional lighting like MH and HPS are out of the question for my environment. The box is in garage. I do have 4 decent sized computer fans inside. L.E.D lighting is to much for my budget. Question is will T5 lights work? Forgot to mention I have two boxes, veg, flower. Please help. Thank you.

T-5's will work, you need to grow/maintain short plants. Study up on LST and SCROG.

Cool Thank You for the reply. I have been racking my head trying to figure out what exactly to do. Ive been using just regular energy efficient 100watt day light lights. Anything will grow under these I have found, but , stunted. I will research LST and SCROG. Thanks again.
