Need growin help

ive never grown before and i was gonna try and i have a couple questions q:1 does the color of the seed mean anything q:2 how bad will it smell ?

your seeds should have a hard shell if you can crush it between your fingers it's no good. The smell is fully dependent on the strain if you're growing a few plants with flourescent lights. There shouldn't be much smell unless you have a skunk strain.
