Need a bit of help with setting up a growtent

i have been wanting to grow weed for years,and finally i am getting round to it.
i have seen a system on ebay and i am thinking about buying it.
is it right for me?
i will have the grow tent inside my wooden hut which is 8 by 10 feet on the edge of my property which is out the way and not many people will be able to walk passed it for the exception of a few neighbours. i really worry about the smell factor.
i was planning to grow in soil, and would like to know about watering the plants when and how much.
also which plants should i grow for a newbie.

i have many more questions but this will do for now.

Water on a Wet / Dry basis. Or when the top 2-3 inches dry up water. AKA Light containers need water heavy containers are watered.
