Omaha - A man who died during a traffic stop Sunday has been identified.
Lulla G. Vaughan, 68, was driving a car when an Omaha police officer stopped him near 24th and Lake streets. Police said the officer noted an odor of marijuana coming from Vaughan's vehicle.
A small amount of what police believed was marijuana was located in the vehicle. Vaughan was handcuffed and arrested for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
During the course of the traffic stop, Vaughan was cooperative and talkative, police said. While preparing the citation of arrest, the officer noted that Vaughan had become quiet. The officer decided Vaughan needed medical attention and called a rescue squad.
Vaughan was taken to Creighton University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
