Supporters of a North Dakota initiative to allow marijuana use for pain relief want the state Supreme Court to put the measure on the ballot.
An attorney for medical marijuana supporters says Secretary of State Al Jaeger should have done a better job checking the initiative petitions.
Jaeger blocked the measure from going on the ballot because of what he said was evidence of signature fraud.
Medical marijuana backers say some of the petition signatures were genuine. They say Jaeger threw out all the signatures without trying to sort the good from the bad.
They want the Supreme Court to stop the printing of November's ballots until the dispute is resolved.
Supreme Court chief clerk Penny Miller says the court hasn't decided whether to hear arguments in the case.
