N00B questions, please help me out, first time.

I dont post on here much but seems like a great site, so HELLO!

I plan on growing a few plants, nothing crazy, just to try it out see what kind of plants i can grow.

It will be indoors, pref just a pot and some good soil and the seeds, and of course light.

But what do I need? What kind of soil, what kind of lights, anything else needed or is it pretty simple of a concept?

I havent found a good noob guide or anything, so if I overlooked please post!

this web site IS your noob guide lol!!! this is the best site for information on marijuana period. this site has all the info u need to start your grow. this is where i got all my info for my grow. browse around, check out the Grow Room. that is where u will find all the info you could possibly think of. also try to read a couple of grow journals, some of the users go into great detail, and they can probably help u decide what u need and what you want for your grow.

Just go into the Grow Room and start reading at the top. That'll keep you busy until the seeds pop.

Alright I read but am still pretty dumb founded with a few things.

Wat should be my first step, right now, i have money to start, just not sure where it should be put into. i am going to use a cabinet i have, its white inside and all open, and about 4ft high.

This is what sparked the whole idea from a freind of mine, he said that would be great for some growing.

I read a few things, and was told I just need 2 400watt light bulbs, for each side of the cabinet, that will give some nice heat and light in the cabinet.

I need a pot with some nice soil mixture, stil unsure what kind but I will search and prob find out.

Then what? Do i need an intake and exhaust fan pulling air from outside? and mount these onto the cabinet?

Anything I am missing or am I on the right track? I am very anxious to sart this as you can tell, sorry if I sound off with a few things

How wide is the cabinet? If it's 4 feet wide you only need one 400 watt light.

Intake and exhaust is highly recommended. Keep the temps 70-80 degrees F.

Thermometer.

A timer for your lights.

Locks for your doors.

2-3 gallon pots should fit - 3-4 palnts in a 4 foot wide cab.

Some good potting soil.

And some seeds and water.

That should get it started.
