MrBubbles Perpetual Grow

Sorry for the delay in updating this. I've been sick for about a week now and just finally getting over it.

Still not much going on in the garden but I do have a few updates/pics for you guys.

Veg Tent

First, all of my clones had massive roots in less than 10 days! I was amazed by these results especially considering the rocky start they had. I did move about half of them into solo cups. I left the remaining clones in the cloner due to space and also I want to experiment on different rooting sizes to see what recovers the fastest ie. small vs larger root systems. I also topped/cloned my bagseed mother, Lemon Thai Kush, and 1 of my wild Thai a few days ago.

I did recently purchase a shelf system for my veg tent. This was extremely difficult to decide lol. I was contemplating metal vs plastic. I was concerned about chemicals and rust. I ended up purchasing a small metal wire rack (2'x2'x3') with a zinc coating. Based on my research the best would be stainless steel I think. Mainly I got this one cuz it was only $20, zinc coatings are water proof, and mainly because the shelves are adjustable.

I ended up putting it sideways in my tent with the cloner and my humidifier on the lowest shelf. Then my solo cup clones on the second shelf. Right now I can only use half of it because I don't have a light on the bottom shelf. In the future I'll put a single t8 18in light for the bottom shelf. Then I can fill the entire second shelf with solo cups, have larger plants on the side up to 5ft tall and have a small space for my cloner. Sounds confusing but the pics should help. Forgive me I'm on DayQuil lol.

My Dinachem and Blue Thai mothers are getting pretty big in the veg tent. Just waiting for their solo cup clones to take off and then I'll feel comfortable flowering the mothers.

Here's the veg tent with the shelf. Sorry for the crappy pics.

Flower Tent

Getting super close to my next harvest. Predicting a 11/10 chop date for my bagseed plant. She had her last feeding a few days ago with molasses and big bloom. She'll only get straight water from now on.

I did recently talk with my buddy who the seed came from and he says it was a orange bag from the dispensary.

I'll take that with a grain of salt but given her smell it sounds accurate. She has very strong orange flavor with a hard to tell undertone. Can't decide if the undertone is more liquor, diesel, or skunk.

She is my best plant to date by far. The smell is amazing. Buds are super dense and covered in trichs. I can't find a seed or male flower for the life of me. I'm loving the size. I could squeeze 9 of her in a 4x4 no problem. I am having trouble with the side branches supporting the buds. One thing I'm trying with other plants is pinching branches to build strenght. Otherwise once my budget allows id like to do 48in tomato cages. I'm also doing some comparisons on LST vs Top vs Lolly pop.

Here's a few pics of my possible Orange

My blue OG is starting to bud up nicely. My Ultrasour is just transitioning from preflowers to full size flowers. Ill do a full update on those in a few days. As stated before I'll be moving a Dinachem and Blue Thai into my flower tent within the next week or so.

Well that's about it for now. I'll try to get some good pictures for the next update. Thanks again for all the support and help! Wouldn't be here without you guys.

Glad the cuttlings pulled through mrbub :) Another generation of babies!!! Great job +reps brotha hope you are doing great cause the girls sure are lookin swell!
Thanks CA!

Good read mrbub! Some orange ay.. Have yet to personally give it a try, but it sounds delightful! :bongrip: Will be nice to see this girl finish up, she is thriving!

Thanks! Glad it actually made sense. I was pretty messed up on DayQuil when I wrote it. Hell I'm pretty messed up on NyQuil now lol.

Not sure if it's orange but that's what the guy claims it came from. It smells similar to the description I found on a few sites but honestly it's a crapshoot. Could really be anything. Definitely smells like fresh oranges tho. Maybe I'll call her O lol.

We're really looking forward to trying her. Haven't even taken a single sample yet :) We are under an oz left of the last one so it's gonna be close. Guessing she'll give me an oz and a half but could be less. Hopefully she'll be enough to last us another month while my Blue OG finishes. I'm thinking the potency will make her last :D

"O", Might need to name her "O & 1/2", shoooot, im gunning for naming her "2 Oz" for ya :) She looks danky brotha :Namaste:

Lol Thanks CA!

Unfortunately I've been edited and from here on out she will be known as "O"Lol

Without straying too far from my journal and hopefully not getting myself into trouble I would like to state my own philosophy when it comes to words with negative meanings or associations.

I believe a word is just a word. We give words power by how we decide to use them. I think prohibiting words only gives them more power over us and like we've seen with prohibition it only increases the use.

When I see the n word or really any derogative word I believe in redefining them. Taking the negative power and turning it into positive power.

I'm not black myself but have several relatives and friends who are and I've found those who embrace the n word are affected the least by it. Those who choose to prohibit it in their lives are severely affected when someone does use. Why let others hold power over you?

History is very very long. A lot of words and symbols we commonly use today were once used for very horrific things. Just as many symbols that were once sacred are now considered evil. We have the power to redefine everything whether it's a word, a symbol, or a law. We shouldn't shun from using it we should strive to change it.

Ok that's my rant for the day :D

Update:

Sorry I've been slacking guys. Growing is kind of on the back burner right now. Thinking my plants are liking it better this way anyways. Less is more right? :)

Not really using feed schedules or documenting as well as I used to. Just watering when they're dry and feeding every other watering. Still following the FF dosage recommendations on their site. Really can't wait to be done with these nutes and go high brix or hydro tho. Sick of huge ph fluctuations and nute issues.

Here's what I've got going on right now just to bring everyone up to speed.

null_zps89bab3cc.jpg

First up is my agent O. She's close to 10 weeks. Smells like oranges and diesel. I've been harvesting a few branches a day off of her for the last week. Now all that's left is the main cola which I'm planning to leave for another week. Tests so far have been excellent. She tastes exactly how she smells after a 3 day dry (humidity is only 30% and test buds were lower fluffy nugs). Would've like to leave her even longer but we are down to the last few buds of our last harvest. Best of all I can now say I have grown my first SEEDLESS plant! :) Here's a few pics of the branches harvested so far and what's left of her....

I also have 5 other plants flowering at different ages. My next closest to harvest is my lst'd blue OG. She smells super fruity and is just starting to fatten up. She really took the LST and is now sporting 10+ tops. Not exactly sure what week she's on lol. Guessing about a month left. Calling her my Xmas tree or bush might be better :D

After my blue og I have an Ultrasour just a few weeks behind. She's smelling well...sour for lack of a better word.

null_zps28ea4d67.jpg

Then I have my short agent O clone. She's kind of my test plant for small plant SOG. Not liking her at all compared to my multi cola LST but she's smelling nice and orangy just like her mom :)

About a week ago I put my Dinachem and blue Thai mothers into the flower tent. They're just showing preflowers now.
null_zps6da69137.jpg

null_zps1afd53ad.jpg

In my veg tent I have a lot going on. I have 4 mother plants. 2 wild Thai that haven't been sexed yet. 1 lemon Thai Kush and 1 agent O. I have clones of all my strains in solo cups and a few recent clones in my cloner. I also have one Auto blue cheese seedling and one auto Berry Ryder seedling. They are coming along a lot slower then their parents but still
looking healthy. I should note the difference in size between my 2 wild Thais. They were regular seeds and one is easily 3 times the size of the other. Guessing the big one is the male and the small one is the female. I will be sexing clones soon to confirm.

That's where I'm at right now. I'm a little unsure of how ill proceed at this point. I don't think I'll be able to expand to the 2nd 4x4 section in time for these upcoming clones. Also I don't believe I have enough room in my 2x4 veg tent to veg them as large as I'd like. I have a few ideas...

First, I thought of recycling mothers. Meaning I would veg them in 3 gal buckets, take a few clones, wait til they root, and then flower the larger plant and keep one of the clones as a new mother. Going this route ill have to throw away quite a few clones and will be limited up to 8 larger plants maximum in my 4x4 space. I think this approach will work best once I have the entire 4x8 to work with vs the 4x4 tho. Then I could grow 4 monsters in each 4x4 area.

My second idea is to transplant up from solo cups to a variety of 2 liter bottles and 3 gal pots. Id be able to keep 6 mothers in 3 gal maybe up to 5 gal pots. The downside is I'm currently running 7 strains so I'll have to lose one. It would probably be the wild Thai as that's my only 10 week plus strain. The rest are all 8 weeks. Some plants would end up larger then others depending on veg tent space. Essentially it would be a 20+ plant SOG with some medium size and some small size plants. I would of course elevate the pots to create an even canopy. I realize this route will be a lot more work and less rewarding but it gives me variety, frequent harvests, and no wasting clones.

Right now I'm kind of running a combination of the two. For example with my blue Thai and Dinachem I took several clones from each, rooted them, and then moved the larger lst'd mother plants into flower. Now in just a few more weeks the clones will have to be moved to the flower tent due to lack of space in the veg tent. Starting to think a small 2x4 veg tent is only optimal for a SOG vs large plant setup.

Hold onto your seats guys! Another vision is starting to form or that could be the agent O brownies kicking in lmao. My newest idea is to purchase a 4x4 tent. I would use the 2x4 as a mother/clone/seedling tent using t12's. I would use the 4x4 with a 250watt MH to veg my clones nice and big. Then I'd move them to the 4x8 where I'll then have 2 600watt HPS to flower them. I could interconnect all the tents to the same exhaust and carbon filter system.

This is probably a 6 month plan. For right now I'm focused on getting my 2nd 600watt hps so I can use my entire 4x8 tent for flowering. It'll have to be a huge SOG at first but ill work my way up to larger plants as I get the supplies.

Well that's all for now. Sorry for the HUGE rant. Most of this is just me thinking out loud so I can plan things out and make decisions. I appreciate everyone who's following. Right now I'm just getting a feel for each of my strains. Soon I'll be running a big SOG and I'll be keeping a much more detailed journal.

Blue thai in flower looks very nice! I love the look of the plants leaves, THICK!! Your plan sounds like a nice jump towards perpetual! Good stuff mrbub :Namaste: Agent O looks mighty fine :yummy:

Thanks! Yes the blue thai is my healthiest bushier plant by far. Can't wait to see how the buds look. Really wish I was producing a high yielding perpetual as I first planned but like everything when it comes to growing weed there's no schedule or planning lol.

I'm getting really close though. Once I get a second light in the next few months Ill really be able to grow some monsters hopefully in high brix! :D

Yep it all takes time :Namaste: I have yet to even read much about high brix the levels and such, im clueless  Just now barely scratching the surface with teas. Hope you get to proceed how you see fit mrbub! :Namaste: Stay well buddy!

I highly recommend following Doc Bud. He's getting amazing results using a high brix soil kit that he sells for cheap. Mainly I like the idea of not having to add nutes. With his kit you just water, foliar feed, and an occasional tea. Supposedly the plants fight off pests on their own so you don't have to even worry and the bud is out of this world. Trust me you'll be hearing plenty about high brix in the near future on this journal :)

I'll look into his stuff, I also need to break out my TLO by the rev and start reading... ordered it back on my first grow and totally forgot about it after it got pushed under the bed, ahhh  Will be good to learn some high brix from you mrbub :thumb:

Highly doubt you'll learn much from me lol. Ill document it when I do it so you can at least learn from my mistakes tho :) Ill prolly have to wait a month to order a kit and then need to let it cook for a few months before I can use it. Until then FF full steam ahead lol.

Really struggling with ph on the FF especially the tiger bloom. Ran out of ph up so now just diluting it to 1/3 strength so my ph ends up at 5.5. Definitely too low but I've been reading that ph is not much of an issue with soil. Hard to wrap my head around not calibrating ph but I've been told that my soil should be able to buffer my ph to an acceptable level. I'd still prefer to adjust it but without any ph up left I may be forced to test this theory. I can order more or use household shit to make homemade ph up but I've been told that the shit ton of ph up I've been using to get my ph within range is prolly causing more harm then good. Guess I'll find out soon lol

Hey Mr. B the plants are looking super good man! You will love the switch to hydro if you plan on doing it, I love mine so far! High brix sounds interesting too, and I planned on going high brix well before I bought all my hydro shit. I followed Doc Buds log for a bit and posted some compliments and stuff. I sent him a PM asking about his High Brix kit etc etc etc. Never even replied back to me. Guess you have to be in his circle of trust or something. Anyways I would still be interested in trying high brix in the future.

That's a bit of a cheap shot there BP 420. I always respond to my PM's and my customer service is prompt.

There is no circle of trust....not sure where you came up with that. Searched my PM's and didn't see one from you.

If I screw up, I don't mind people pointing it out, but what you're saying is nothing more than trashing the reputation of someone you don't know.

I think you should be good buddy :) Your plan sounds good. As you said your soil should be able to buffer enough to be easy on the growth, although, it will take a lot of watching over them, checking them daily for any ill results. Stay well mrbub!! :joint:

I feel like a teenager throwing a party at my parents house and two kids are trying to fight in the living room lol I'm sure BP didn't mean anything by it. Didn't realize you were following my journal doc :D

Somedays I miss hydro. It's simple and clean which I def like. It doesn't feel the same as getting my hands in the dirt tho. Ideally I'd do both. Not sure if you can tell by my journal so far but I like variety lol. In the near future I'll be doing a side by side of a bubble bucket vs soil.

I'm torn between medium size rockwool hydro SOG style like yours or big soil plants lol

Trust me I spend plenty of time checking them. Can't help it they're my babies lol

I'll feel a lot more comfortable going commando on my ph once I'm done with the FF :D

No disrespect meant and not trying to bash your reputation. You obviously grow amazing bud with your high brix that is why I contacted you in the first place to see about your kit that everyone is raving about.

Sorry if you took what I said the wrong way, but no need to get defensive. I did not even say anything other then you did not reply back to my email.

The circle of trust thing is just a joke, sheesh. Sorry, I should of put a  in there to make it sound like it.

I don't go around bashing people you can look at all my previous post's. I am sorry if I offended you

This is the PM I sent you on 7/14/2013

Doc,

Hey man I was reading over Curso's log for a bit and was pretty amazed at how his grow turned out with your kit. I am just curious as to what I need to do to get my hands on that kit of yours? Would love to follow your directions and give it a go on my next grow.

If you want to discuss it further just go ahead and PM me.
