Moving into a new building and is concerned about the smell of cannabutter

I'm moving into a New York State government substituted building for individuals with middle-class income. To celebrate my new home, I'm throwing a party and thought it would be cool to make some edibles. However, I'm concerned that the smell from the butter will go down the hallway of my building, and I'll be kicked out. I never did this, before so I don't know how strong the smell is. The kitchen is somewhat near the door. What are the chances that the smell will go down the hallway? Is there anything I can do to prevent that?

Also I'd lack to add that if Canna oil smells less then Canna butter then I'll gladly make Canna oil instead.
