Moveable scrog

Greetings,

Every grow seems to have an overachiever ;)

Short story, pictures to follow !

Four Sativa photo's, an auto (just to see) and two Green Crack photo's that Were supposed to be nutrient test subjects...

Any who, as you can imagine real estate is limited in a ~ 5' x 5' space.

Height isn't an issue but instead of raising the shorter girls I've opting for training them to each fit in roughly 2' x 2' x 4'.

At 34" inches the Double Chocolate was a foot taller than her sisters o_O

I stabbed her with three bamboo stakes (ouch) and made a 22" diameter hoop out of bailing wire !

There were twelve tops of similar height, couldn't bear to trim any so I tied them all down to the wire.

What you are seeing here is four or five days later, each top has grown up to 12" vertically instead of horizontally !

And the bud sites under the tops have filled in the circle..

This is only the first week of flower so I may have to add another ring or just pull them down into the middle of the circle..

A little closer showing the wire, tie downs and horizontal growth a little clearer...

And the mobile part, 14" x 14" x 1/2" plywood with four castors. Makes moving them around a breeze.

I'm growing with a 600w MH/HPS bulbs in a 42" reflector so I rotate the girls every day.

I was kind of in the camp of aside from topping and some light LST leave them be !

But I adopted lollipopping because I Hate trimming the little stuff but I hate throwing it away more...

So I have now fully embraced the trimming/training style.

Yield isn't an issue, if a little trimming only on substantial buds is all that is necessary it will make me Happy !

The Girls today. All bottom bud sites and any branches that won't make it up to the canopy have been removed.

Green Crack test girls in the front...

Saving them is perhaps a throw back to my previous aversion to trimming perfectly healthy parts :yummy:

Please feel free to share your slightly unusual training methods..

Full Grow Journal is in my signature !

Nice start to your current grow journal @Chuckeye

I do scrogging during the winter months, but a different type. I normally do one 4x4 net with only one plant.

I will follow along if you don't mind, and help with your scrog questions if you have any.

Stay safe, and grow well my friend,
Tok.. :bong:

edit: I will be starting a plant this month for my scrog net. I just need to pick a strain, which will be real soon.
