MOUNTAIN VIEW -- A temporary ban on medical marijuana dispensaries has been approved by the Mountain View City Council.
The majority of the council says even though they would eventually support allowing pot clubs in the city, they wanted to give city officials time to develop guidelines.
The city council decided to take up the issue after federal authorities announced recently they would not be going after pot dispensaries in states where its legal, such as California.
The temporary ban will last until April 2011.
