Morglie's 1st Journal With Ace Sativas In High Brix

So, back in the beginning of December I trimmed my Zamedelica to keep the height down and didn't have any need for clones so I stuck them in a glass of water.

As the days turned into weeks I told them if they grew roots they'd get to climb into some soil and they'd get to party with the flower girls. This is in a 60f basement as well. Around week 3 they grew nubs. I let them go until they hit the four week mark and the nubs hadn't progressed and the green was starting to fade. So I plopped them into small cups of high brix soil with a bit of roots! thrown in to help roots develope. Well one wilted but the other one has a lovely bud starting on her.

I won't get squat off of her but I can't cull her with how hard she fought to live. I'll smoke a bowl to commemorate her. Probably her whole harvest but still. 😁 cheers!

In other news I believe the Malawi is ready. The trics still haven't gone very amber but she slowed down on drinking and her leaves are going crunchy.

That pine shavings smell is still really sticking with her. Very cool taste. This mixed with afghani would be amazing. I'm not having much luck with the afghani seeds germinating though. There is a reason they were a free early release. I might have to try making fem seeds and flip my Malawi.

Speaking of afghani seeds, the ones I found last night trimming up the lowers are large. Afghani x Panama green
420-magazine-mobile797707284.jpg

The ones on top of the bag are some Zamedelica x Panama for reference. I might have to settle for purple Malawi x (zam x pan). I think I can handle that. A bit more power hopefully from just the straight afghani. Great stone from it last night.....for about an hour. I'm really finding a love of the indica buzz, though. There is a Very distinct difference between the buzzes and I'm finding they each have their place.

The Malawi got cut this morning. Lovely aroma and color off of her.

The sample bud I trimmed last weekend got smoked at band jam last night. Smooth as could be. I blew out my first hit just to make sure I was getting something. Incredible buzz for improv. Two of the guys tapped out after two hits. It's some potent stuff. I believe I may have my first true high brix. Her leaves, while crispy, were still praying to the light. I already have a clone of her in flower and two more cuts in veg. 75 days total flower which means I can grow her outside. One of the veg room cuts is going outside this spring.

In other news my Zamedelica is coming along great. The leaves are scorched from my last mite treatment, but the buds are swelling up nicely and getting ready to turn into a foxtailing beast by the looks of it.

Yesterday 4 of the 6 Zamedelica x Panama seeds sprouted. I think I'm going to grow these out and not worry about clones and pheno hunting yet. I have so many seeds of that cross, I have the opportunity to grow some out just to see what the strain is like first. Get to know if before I worry about finding that special one. It will give me a chance to get a feel for how it grows in the kit as well. The Zamedelica definitely need different attention than the PPP that I've grown out several times in the kit.

Speaking of pure power plant. This strain was bred to be high yielding and low smell. I don't think they grew it high brix. I had her out to feed her today and she has taken on a very distinct cat piss smell. I've heard people mention strains doing this but I guess I didn't believe it would be that much like actual cat piss. It's like I stuck my nose in the litter box. Yea, I know, it doesn't sound that tasty, but I have a feeling it's going to have a phenomenal flavor when smoked.

Have a great one people.

Peace

I snapped a couple of flash shots today. I wanted to get a decent picture of the Panama and with lights on she's always back-lit. I almost culled her and a Zamedelica that is going ape-shit as well. I hit them way too hard with a neem treatment and about killed them I had thought. The Panama is in an 18gal tote of third run soil. She just got her first cat yesterday. I have a good feeling about her.
420-magazine-mobile1759772392.jpg

The Zamedelica I almost culled at the same time. First cat for her today.
420-magazine-mobile658654967.jpg

And another pheno that is starting to foxtail. They are going to be clubs on the ends of these spindly little branches.

Sent from this funny device I carry around and still call a phone even though I hardly ever make calls with it.

My pure power plant I have in flower has really been stinking up the room. It had a cat piss smell going which has gotten darker and danker. The leaves are starting to turn black. Please ignore the crispy leaves, she's another victim of my over zealous neem treatment.
420-magazine-mobile213400137.jpg

I pulled the candy out under normal florescents the other day and it had a brown hue to the tops. The cat drench has really brought the resin out.
420-magazine-mobile196125660.jpg

The B pheno of my Zamedelica is throwing resin like mad as well.

This happened in the last week. I picked up a humidifier last Monday. I've been fighting RH since it got cold this winter. It's been hitting around 20-30% tops. I'm now in the 45-55% range. It's backwards of normal though. Normally it seems that humidity spikes during lights off, when it cools down. I have my humidifier plugged into the same timer as the lights so it hits is low point on rh and temp at night. I'm thinking that might have something to do with it. Who knows. It's starting to get sticky in here!

I do have a bit of powdery mildew I'm fighting with. A remnant of my mite battle. I have 4 zam B x Panama seeds that I plopped into a 5 gal pot together and put into flower. I thought I'd try the ziggy route and basically grow 11/13 from seed. Those will be the last flowering in my current indoor grow.
420-magazine-mobile1721422718.jpg

I've got some cuttings in veg that I'm wanting to keep but I'm planning on resetting the flower room so that I can scrub it down good. I might just wait until I get my new grow area is set up before I flower again. We'll see. I have 4 plants picked out for my outdoor grow this year which will be going while my flower room is getting reset.

Outdoors this year I've got :
Nirvana - Pure power plant
Delicious seeds - candy
Herbies freebie - afghani
Ace - Malawi purple pheno

I should get a decent chunk from those to mitigate the shut down of my flower room for a bit. I've been fighting to get ahead of our consumption. I can't seem to pull more than 1-2 ounces from a plant. I think a light upgrade is in order. I've been eyeing the perfect sun 500. It should bring down my total watts at the wall as well which the electric bill will like.

A parting shot of the glass of water clone trucking along nicely.

Just thought I'd drop a picture of the Panama hiding in the back of my flower room.

420-magazine-mobile726007278.jpg

I decided to drop my two F1 Panama seedlings into the sides of her pot as well. I'm planning on tearing down and cleaning my flower room when the last plants come down in may, which gives enough time to flower these two girls out. In about a month when the Panama gets cut they will be ready to take over the tote and still finish before my Zamedelica x Panama seedlings finish. I'm trying to beef up my stash before I pause the perpetual and also, I've decided I'm going to grow out a few of these as well before I start worring about pheno hunting. I want to get to know the strain first.

Speaking of the ZaPa cross, they are starting to take off.
420-magazine-mobile602400478.jpg

Don't mind the scorched leaves, she really has been packing on the resin. Candy should be coming down next weekend.
420-magazine-mobile2039015558.jpg

I've been training a mint plant into high brix soil. The only water it has gotten besides misting in about a month has been in the small pot.

Welcome to my yard Ziggy and Fischer. Make yourselves at home. There's some nice Zamedelica I just finished trimming in the pipe. I know, it's best cured, but there always needs to be a sampler, eh? It's the Thai pheno so buckle up if you plan to indulge.

My little Zamedelica that i rooted in a cup of water just got her first cat drench tonight. A bit on the late side. She's exploded in the last couple of days.
420-magazine-mobile1290426933.jpg

My purple Malawi is coming along nicely. She's getting her first cat drench next time she drinks. I brushed some Malawi pollen on her the other day. I'm not certain if the pollen is any good but it looks like it might have taken. The pistols in the first picture have turned orange on the ends. I did find 6 seeds in my last grow of her which should be F1 Malawi seeds. So hopefully a few more to play with here.

Speaking of seeds I found one in the Zamedelica I just trimmed. That has to be from my Malawi. So Thai pheno Zamedelica x Malawi. I have a slew of sativa seeds, but I need to get some indica genes going here. I'm thinking about picking up Ace's snow moon, early bubba, erdpurt x pck, and China yunnan.

looking great!!
The Zamaldelica I grew and made seeds, I really love.
ACE seeds do well in Docs soil ..just need the space and time. :)
:goodjob:

morglie...Im stunned..i just saw your thread in your signature and Ive never been here until now..

my apologies..

i have some reading..

Beautiful job!!

Same Here ... Morglie
Just noticed your signature after all the posting you've done on my thread. And Ace Seeds in HiBrix right in your signature !
2 days later and I'm all caught up :) - I should have been coming here to learn !

I'm just starting with Ace seeds, and I'm new to Sativa growing, still I'm wondering if you have enough light for vegging.

I veg with a single 216W (4 x 54W) 4' long CFL fixture 2-6" above the plants and my Ace Lily is vegging a lot like a hybrid.
With 2x125W CFL bulbs you should be getting similar results, but your girls seem to do a lot more stretching for the light.

Probably doesn't need changing now, and I know you early flowered most of this grow, but it seems you might benefit from more light in veg (or closer light in veg) to build lower and stronger branches.
