mold on dried cured buds?

i have just been informed that there white stringy strands on the buds i gave to a buddy.i dry and cure mine over a few week period and keep it it mason jars in a cool dry dark place.mine seems to last me for months before it's gone and i need more.I told him to do the same and even gave him a jar. Can( using my method) buds go moldy ?what could he be doing wrong?

stringy and white? maybe its mites or reuglar spider webs?

If the jar has too much moisture or wasn't clean I could see it. But i store buds in jars for well over a year with no problems.

Did you ask how it smelled when he opened it?

Did he possibly try to add a citrus peel or something like that to add moisture? That's a sure fire way to get mold if it sits in there too long.
