Say you had 400 watts of CFLs and half the bulbs are 2500k and the other half 5700k. Would you use them all at once because 200 watts is too weak or would you switch them appropriately and only uses 200 watts at a time?
If the answer is mix the spectrums, would it be better to mix spectrums or run every light at the same frequency? Which spectrums would be best? Maybe when flowering you can turn off the daylight bulbs sometimes and when vegging just turn off the red bulbs sometimes?
