Mint smelling cannabis

I acquired 2oz of trim and it smells minty does anyone think this is right or is rotten its not on stem its dust and small buds. The reason i think its rotten is i had a bag of leaves in my shed for a while when i picked it up it smelt minty has anyone else ever smelt minty weed if so was it rotten i dont even want to handle it in case i contaminate my plants

A joker I used to know sprayed terpenes on stuff?
Yes, have grown Sativa/Skunk before that was slightly menthol

several strains do this. White Widow always impresses me with a very minty smell.

the buds in there smell like stardawg looking at mint cookie strain it originates from chemdawg.
