Are you a Michigan Medical Marijuana Patient or Caregiver concerned about Public Act 460 of 2012? If you are you already know that starting this April, if you are not transporting your medicine properly, you could be charged with a Misdemeanor Offense!! That's right! Just this past December of 2012 the Michigan House of Representatives amended HB 4856 which prohibits the transfer of medicinal marijuana by vehicle unless the drug is (1) enclosed (soon to be added, "and locked") in a case, (2) placed in the vehicle's trunk, (3) secured in a way that is not readily accessible from the interior of the vehicle if the vehicle does not have a trunk. Cardholders who are found in possession of unconcealed and unsecured marijuana will be arrested and charged with a Misdemeanor, despite their medical condition and/or card status. The punishment that offenders could receive is imprisonment up to 93 days and a $100.00 fine (but not exceeding $500.00)!
