A group of Vermont business leaders has been inviting the public to comment how to create a safe and sustainable marijuana industry.
Vermont Public Radio reports the Vermont Cannabis Collaborative has been leading public discussions around the state about how marijuana could create jobs.
The state legalized medical marijuana usage, but recreational use is still illegal.
Sen. Joe Benning said at a meeting on Thursday in St. Johnsbury that the purpose of the meeting was to talk about what would happen if marijuana was legalized.
Sen. David Zuckerman introduced a legalization bill earlier this year. Sen. Jeanette White previously said she plans to work on new legislation in November.
White supports Vermonters growing for personal use without taxation.
