Town meeting voters on Tuesday will decide whether to approve two medical marijuana proposals, one calling for a yearlong moratorium, the other to implement zoning restrictions for dispensaries.

The annual town meeting will open at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Pembroke High School, 80 Learning Lane.

Communities across the state, including Brockton and Taunton, are considering ways to limit where medical marijuana dispensaries can open within their boundaries.

The second proposal would limit dispensaries to a small section of town near the Marshfield town line.

Voters will also decide whether to implement an $11.5 million road improvement plan proposed by the public works department. The vote would authorize the town to borrow the money for road improvements that would take place over three to five years.

Voters will also decide the following:

Whether to approve a $56.5 million operating budget for fiscal year 2014, beginning July 1, including $28.3 million for schools.

Whether to reduce the number of times the town has to advertise an employment opportunity in local newspapers.

Whether to purchase new emergency generators for public works, library and animal shelter.

Whether to spend $215,000 in Community Preservation Act money to preserve 80 acres of land off Monroe Street as open space.

Whether to buy an emergency awareness system to allow the schools to alert town hall and the police when problems arise.
