An info session for entrepreneurs looking to enter the medical marijuana field was held in Boston on Saturday.
The Cannabis Career Institute hosted the day-long event at the Hilton Hotel located at Logan International Airport.
The event focused on giving potential medical marijuana business ownersinformation related to establishing legal dispensaries and delivery services, as well as other compliance issues.
Event organizers tell FOX 25 they sold all 40 seats for Saturday's event.
Massachusetts voters approved a move to legalize medical marijuana in Nov. 2012. The law, which limits the number of dispensaries to no more than 35 in 2013, went into effect on Jan. 1. The DPH could allow more dispensaries after 2013.
The Mass. Department of Public Health has until May 1 to issue regulations on who will run the dispensaries, who will work there, and how they will be operated. DPH must also decide what constitutes a 60-day supply patients can receive.
While the state works to iron out the details, some towns and cities are scrambling to amend their zoning laws so that marijuana dispensaries are banned or restricted in their towns.
