Maximum grow light

1500µmol is a lot of light. I grow in ambient CO2 using hydro. My autos get 1000µmol or more and my last photo grow was 1150µmol.

I've had more than 1200µmol on my plants twice and, in both cases, the plant exhibited symptoms of excess light within a few minutes.

My rationale is pretty simple - research shows that, as long as the plants can use the light, you will get the largest yield and the highest crop quality (the ratio of flower to above ground plant mass) when the plants are given more light.

I've taken that approach for the past few years based on reading the available research and the value of that has been driven home in the You Tube videos that Mitch Westmoreland released earlier this year.

Search in YT for "mitch westmoreland". The links to his 2024 videos are very similar. His video on "hemp" from 2020 was the first time I'd seen research discuss the role of temperature on secondary metabolites.
