Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

:circle-of-love: we use third-party warehouse to handle the stock and delivery. They will process tens of thousands packages every day. All are automated. It's really hard to ask this giant machine to show a slight humanity. :Namaste: Never mind, we are looking for distributors now and hope very soon we will offer local-pick-up to all of you guys. :cheesygrinsmiley:
Dnob. My 1200 from sara came with a 4x4" holographic sticker on corner of box reading 1200watt Led grow light! At time of purchase I would definitely attach a note asking tye hologram to be covered over

18" u say?
Next run I'm training for a flat canopy so il try that but these plants a Christmas trees not sure it would cover enough at the moment
12" seems to close for my space I don't think the spread would be enough il play and find my happy medium

:Namaste: thanks.:circle-of-love:

:thumb:18"~24" is the recommended height for the light. It's just recommendation. I believe every grower has their own way to get the best result. :circle-of-love:
I would agree and say the ideal height is 24" to get the plants used to the light or for veging as the plants wont need that much intesity and you well get a better coverage the higher you keep the light and 12"-18" for best results flowering. i have some buds closer than 12" in my scrog and they are the biggest buds with no burning or hash tips just frosty goodness

:welcome: I am great! ha, the thread is only two years old, still a baby, lol. :circle-of-love:
wow this thread is old. I guess Mars branded LED panels are still good! what's up SmokeSara? :bongrip:

SmokeSara, are you still sending free lamps for demo? I have a monster colombian landstrain that wants more power... please keep Vlad P in mind in 2 months when my sweet monster harvests. ;) I promote good hardware.

:Namaste:there is no sign of free lamp now, but you will never know. I will inform you guys in the first time when there is.:cheesygrinsmiley:

Today I noticed a slight smeary "film" on the glass (inside) of the old model marshydros. I didn't really want to *remove* the glass altogether as some people do, but I opened the lights up and cleaned the glass with glass cleaner and then with some alcohol. Just *careful* when you remove the housing and then take out the PCB with the LEDs and the heatsink. Otherwise it was very easy to do this. Just wanted to report :)

*** Do that at your own RISK and note that opening might void warranty!!! ***

Unplug
Put lamp face down on some desk with a soft towel etc.
Unscrew the 6 screws at the side.
Carefully lift up/out the upper part of the case.
(Make note of the attached wires!)
You see the heatsink and there are four more tiny screws.
Unscrew the 4 screws and careful lift up and take out the PCB
(Make note of the attached wires here too)

Hi Sara !
An update on my light. Took about a week for the plant to adjust to the new LED. Seem to be bulking bigger more than growing at first. Now it is growing up and out. It is about 3 weeks into flower. I was having fun and shot from the underneath to see the light in the picture.
It is the Reflector LED 96x3W.
have a ...Grate Day...

Hello all,
New to all of this & wanting some advice on setting of with an LED tent.
Have a 2mx2mx2m tent with 12 pots, & am looking at 4 of the 600w 3w reflector units, my question is will this give enough coverage/penetration, or should I go for the mars 2 units.
Thankyou.

Personally id go for 2 MarsII 900W or a 1200W MarsII and a the biggest Reflector one to make up for the rest of the watts. probley a bit cheaper to and more power for the watt:)

I have the same area with two 900 watt Mars 2, one 144 x 5 reflector, one 96 x 3 reflector, one 96 x 5 reflector and a 60 x 5 old style and nine plants. When plants are small coverage is great but as they grow and flower areas of lower light intensity become obvious so it is either less plants or more light. The total area is 42 + sq feet so for total coverage around 2100 wall watts or a lot of light I like smaller lights that can be moved where needed over larger units but that is a personal choice.
I am ending my first grow in this tent and will add either a 1200 watt Mars 2 between the 900's or a 192 x 5 and add another 144 x 5 to replace the 60 x 5. My biggest complaint on these tents is the height, the plants need to be under 80 cm or you lose your coverage and when you find the monster with more tops than you can count and triples in size during flower height becomes a issue as does coverage hope this helps at least with LED's the plants can grow into the light and not burn

go with 4 panels of 1200W minimum .... each 1200W panel replace very well a 600W HPS and is perfect for a 1 square meter each ..... you have 4 square meters, so ...... each of theses 1200W panel consume around 525W at the wall
