hi, ozzy. could you tell me what's the spectrum of your tent?
What height from the canopy in veg and flowering you guys keeping Mars 2's vs Reflectors at??

Want to know if I could do a Mars with the height of my tent...

happy growing! have a nice weekend!:circle-of-love:
hey peeps, just opened my 96x3 led,she sure is purtty.turned it on to check it and im still seeing spots.i'm going to need some new shades.thanx sara for ur grrrreat customer service.keep up the good work!!!!keep it green, peace out

Thats the height you need to know, 12", once you know what stops growth i say pull it 2/3" higher so they continue to grow and keep pulling it up, until you get the height you want, you are potentially controlling the height of your plants whilst maintaining the highest intensity, therefore "getting your moneys worth" from you light. Rope ratchet hangers are a must, £10/£$15!

I also agree that 2/3ft(24/36") is high for flowering, i was keeping my 3w LED's (although not Reflectors) about 12" away from a blooming plant, but could easily have gone to 6" had i not needed to cover more ground with the light!

As long as the plant isnt showing signs of...discomfort and isnt in contact with any heat put out by the light then i say the closer the better! Always with that consideration to internode spacing and spreading light equally over you canopy.

This is just a theory, i have only been using LED since Nov '13, but it seems to be holding up for me anyway ;) My Mars II's i keep further away

JFYInfo,
My mars 2 900 watts is at 5'7 (170cm)
One tip of my plant is 5 inches away..here is a pic of the tip...
it is 50 days flower and I think if it was gonna bleach it would have already..I'd be more alarmed if/when the very top calyx e's don't swell..so far every other calyx below has swelled and u can see the light in the background and just how close the light is..hope this helps.

That's bizarre,
It even seems hairier near the light lmao..
Still, all the pistils are healthy as!! I have never seen a top that goes skinny up the top before...
Or is it just insanely quick bud growth under the led???
How long has the top been like that?

Hope she swells up for ya ;)

Got the 96x3 lights early this week... EXTREMELY fast shipping from China to the States... I am impressed! Lights came very well packaged and arrived safely. Put them up that evening but had some issues with getting them to sit right since I tried to string them on a single yoyo each. Last night I restrung them so that they have a yoyo on each end. The two lights are sitting parallel to each other right above my 4x2 VersaGrow. Still playing with the height above the plants but everything is looking great!

I did have one question though.... when I hooked up the lights I noticed that on both panels on each light (so a total of four panels) there is a single red light that does not get bright like the others. I would immediately think that this is an issue with the LED but it is the same exact brightness in the same exact spot across all four panels. What is this light?

yuyo received second light
ordered sunday evening and received friday morning
all parts in the box and no damage, all lights shine
thank you topled

Those are IR diodes and emit light at a frequency human eyes do not readily detect.

Ahhh that makes sense.. I had a feeling that it had to be something along those lines because if there was something wrong with them and they DID happen to be all in the same spot four times in a row... then I would be playing the lotto tonight ;-)

As ColoradoHigh said it is the IR, and DO NOT look directly at light without serious eye protection.

I freaked out about the same diode when I got mine!! It is in deed IR ;)

Ok I have a question for anyone that has grown in soil..

I posted this on my Journal but no response, I had some issues with Fungus Gnats so I put out yellow sticky card traps.
A day or 2 after putting out the traps I had caught a few Gnats but there were also heaps of tiny specs all over the sticky card!!

Upon investigation with my microscope, they appear to look like a slug shaped (similar) body and head...

I can't find any information about this anywhere, do any of you know what these could be?
