Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

Vous parlez Anglais tres bien pacopac! Actually, the Mars II 400w might be a better choice as it covers 3'x3' and would use less power than your 400w HPS as well as helping you to manage the heat. Be careful of getting too powerful of a light, especially with the 5-watt diodes of the Mars II, distance from the canopy is greater than with 3-watt LEDs.

I have a Mars II 400 in a 2x2x4.5 tent and it is plenty IMO and works extremely well. I will admit I like my 3w reflectors better but I do love my 5w Mars II. I think you will be pleased with the results of either one that you decide to go with....

Hello everyone, I have the reflector series, I'm about three weeks away from harvest with an autoflower, should I have the switch on bloom or both veg and bloom, I know the plants like the red spectrum during flower. What would be the ramifications of both scenarios be?

As I understand it, the bloom switch only turns on the remaining 15 or so red spectrum diodes to enhance the overall spectrum for the flowering stage, without the veg switch on the light is only producing ~30 watts of illumination. Also, the veg switch should always be on since that switch is tied to the fans and if only the bloom switch is on then I would be concerned that those diodes are not getting sufficiently cooled without any fans.

Edit: After receiving my light I've since realized that there are 36 LED diodes associated with the Bloom switch, not the 15 I mentioned above.

Both buttons on!

Why do you like the 3w reflectors better?
I like having the veg and bloom switches the unit is not as heavy and I don't have to worry about heat issues at all. With that being said let me back up just a bit. I haven't finished a complete flower yet under the Mars II and that very well may offset the above listed things if my harvest shows that is works much better in flower than the 3w. I know what can be harvested under the 3w and I was and am very pleased. Then lastly you can't forget about the price and unless I harvest enough quality smoke from the tent with the Mars II that I can see where the money difference could be argued the price of the 3w reflector series is awesome.... and I'm a real person.....:circle-of-love:

You certainly want both switches on during flower. What the ramifications of not doing it that way I have no idea but I do know they are designed for the veg switch only to be on during veg and both to be on during bloom. If you run only the bloom without the veg switch on your fans will not be running and your unit will get to hot. Hope this helps.....:circle-of-love:

It's heeeeeeeere! My new Top LED 96x3-watt Reflector Grow Light arrived this afternoon around 2:30 PM. I have to say that this light was very well packaged and it arrived with no visible damage to the outside of the box. I opened it up, went through and read all of the "literature" and proceeded to take it out and examine the light. It looks to be a well constructed unit and I was looking forward to giving it a test run.

I have packed the light back up until I start my next grow in a little over 2 weeks time. I still have to figure out how I am going to mount this light so that I can maximize its height in the grow box and I don't want to fiddle around with it until my current grow is complete, less chance of damaging the ladies, or the light, if I wait until they have been harvested and dried. Thanks again to Sara and Top LED for providing a reasonably priced top notch product in a timely manner.

Hi, Pacopac. Thank you for attention our light!:thanks:
Our light can work in France, it is EU plug and it is work from 85~265v.
With your spectrum, MarsII 900w is a bit big. you can choose the light not more than MarsII 700w. :cheesygrinsmiley:
hi all,

i'm new in this forum, i'm french and i'm sorry because my english is bad...

I am interested by the MarsII 900W

I am in France, I would like to know if it will work here in France (electricity...)

And think you that I would have good result in a darkroom 80cmX80cm (2,7ft X 2,7ft) with the marsII 900w?
( I used a hps 400w but i want to test led technology because it is better for "manage" the heat )

Thank you and sorry for my bad english !

Thanks for your help!:goodjob:
