Mars-Hydro LED Grow Light Discussion

PS: Sep 13th that container we use HANJIN SHIPPING,this shipping company applied bankrupt recently,it caused their ship refused by many ports.

I read about that just recently. Such a shame. It is (was?) South Korea's largest and one of the world's largest cargo carriers (by capacity). They filed for restructuring back in April, but I guess it was not enough, because they filed for bankruptcy at the end of August.

In the United States, they filed papers in US Bankruptcy Court at the beginning of September to prevent creditors from seizing their assets when they docked - but there are still grave concerns that they won't be able to pay for docking fees, fuel, cargo unloading, et cetera. I read that the Hanjin Greece was finally allowed to dock and begin unloading at the Port of Long Beach this past Saturday. Hopefully, your US-destination products were on that ship - or the Hanjin Montevideo or Hanjin Boston, which were expected to dock next.

As for the global picture (of Hanjin Shipping) as a whole, I saw that three of their vessels have been auctioned off, and two more are about to be. This should raise some emergency funds to help with docking, as many of their vessels are stuck waiting to dock around the world. But I read that it would cost an estimated $543 million (USD) to cover the docking and unloading expenses of all of the companies vessels. Half a billion dollars - and the company's entire assets are only valued at around $1.76 billion (USD). The question of how it managed to accrue $5.5 billion (USD) in debt simply boggles the mind. And the near future is probably not going to be a highly profitable time for global carriers; there is significant overcapacity and that isn't even counting the new ships that are due to be delivered between now and 2019. There isn't likely to be a real return to profitability for that industry until 2019 or 2020.

OtOH, the global overcapacity means that there are plenty of other shippers who are willing to step in and haul cargo (although possibly at a temporarily increased price, due to the brief "sudden demand" caused by this carrier's difficulties. Any cargo you have on this company's vessels will undoubtedly be offloaded soon (+/-, depending on the destination country), and you will be able to find a more solvent carrier.

I am going to buy the same reflector series so I will have a box to ship back for repair. It cant hurt having another one of these laying around :thumb: I love the light so much but need my red lights in the flower asap. I tried to order one last night and I didn't see a place to enter a coupon code, I remember co. finest used to be a good code when you were TopLed website.

But I was confused with the RMA # procedure... Do I need to print a label off or just write it on the box? After I ship I will provide tracking #. Thanks So Much for the customer support.

:Namaste:Please send two new pictures to service@mars-hydro.com : one with the light on,one with the light off.:high-five:It maybe the driver's problem,my colleague will help to diagnose for you.:Namaste:
May i know which light you would like to buy? I can give you a coupon code, you can buy driectly from our official website.:high-five:

That's a great and useful attitude. A spare LED panel - or other light source - available for immediate backup can not only bring peace of mind (which is important in and of itself), but it can also save a harvest, or at least make the difference between a yield that reaches its fullest potential and one that does not. Especially if a failure occurs during the flowering phase.

In the HID (HPS/MH) days when core & coil (magnetic) ballasts were considered hot new technology (lol), this meant having a spare bulb. Those ballasts... I once dropped one down the basement stairs and it made the last four or five feet in the air before hitting the concrete floor - and still worked, the dent in the case notwithstanding. These days... technology has advanced, but due to the nature of things, has become more delicate - not just grow lighting, but many things (ever drop an old "Ma Bell" phone when you were a kid, the kind that you could knock out a burglar with? The chance of damage was so slight you might not even have gotten yelled at - try getting clumsy with the newer cell phones...). Today, in the case of LED panels, it can mean having a spare... LED panel.

But remember, when your spare happens to be a complete light source... Those "spares" have a way of getting incorporated into the garden for daily use. Then you need a new spare ;) .

lol, yes to all that you said! I should just buy two lights huh. haha. Cause when it gets cold. put another light in the tent. 192x5 gave more problems than the 144x3w and the 192 is newer. But I am a happy camper. Just waiting on that coupon code from sara for the 192x5 and ill buy another

:circle-of-love:They are the largest cargo carries in South Korea, they filed for bankruptcy just few days before our container arrived at the US port.Their action caused big tragedy for many companies.:Namaste:
I guess the only thing we can do is praying that US port will allow their ship dock,we got big quantity of goods on that ship.:Namaste:
Maybe South Korea government will do something for it,no matter what, this is or was the biggest shipping company in their country.:high-five:

:circle-of-love:You are right, when we have plan-A,it's always good to have a plan-B.It's lucky that we also have other containers go to US which didn't carried by Hanjin,or it will really drive us crazy. We just hope those containers which carried by other shipping company will arrive at US port as soon as possible.:Namaste:
Spare lights will be a good choice,as no one can guarantee the light will not have any problem at sometimes.Just like we can never know when will the electricity will be cut off,so we need prepare some candles or flashlight at home all the time.:high-five:But that only for a short time, electricity is the best.:Namaste:
