Muncie police on Wednesday arrested a city man after he allegedly broke into a westside apartment and stole an estimated one pound of marijuana.
Perhaps not surprisingly, the occupant of the burglarized apartment maintained nothing was missing from his home.
Sylvester Lamar Turner, 23, 3003 S. Macedonia Ave., Apt. H, was arrested at the Colonial Crest Apartments complex along South Morrison Road about 11 a.m.
Authorities said neighbors saw Turner break into the back sliding door of an apartment and emerge a few minutes later with an object, later determined be what one police officer described as a football-sized bag of marijuana.
According to police reports, Turner allegedly admitted to entering the apartment in pursuit of marijuana and money, and reported finding the substance in a refrigerator.
Turner was being held in the Delaware County jail without bond late Wednesday, preliminarily charged with burglary and possession of marijuana.
Court records indicated Turner has been convicted in recent years for possession of marijuana, illegal consumption of alcohol and driving without ever receiving a license.
