(07-02-2004) - A man was arrested for driving a fake SDG&E van that was hauling 1,500 pounds of marijuana, National City police said Friday.
Border Patrol agents were following the white van, which was decorated with orange stripes on the sides and SDG&E decals on the doors, National City police officials said.
The agents asked National City officers to pull over the driver around 4 p.m. Thursday along National City Boulevard, police said.
The Border Patrol agents then arrested the man and confiscated the marijuana, which was found in the back of the van, National City police said.
The driver was not a SDG&E employee, police said.
