A Bangor man allegedly ate some marijuana Thursday night while police checked his license information during a traffic stop.Benjamin E. Lam, 20, of Bangor, smelled of marijuana when he was stopped at 10 p.m. on Hammond Street for an expired registration, according to reports. As Officer Dennis Townsend walked to the rear of Lam's vehicle to speak with dispatchers, another officer watched Lam pull a bag from his pocket and eat the contents, according to reports.
A bag of marijuana was taken from Lam, who said he had eaten some of the drug. A search of his car uncovered an electric scale with marijuana residue. Lam was summoned for falsifying physical evidence and possession of a usable amount of marijuana.
