A Springfield-based medical marijuana dispensary is asking the Select Board for a letter of support Monday to open a facility at 55 University Drive.
Kevin Collins, President/CEO of Mass Alternative Care, Inc. has asked for the letter.
Earlier this month, the board issued a letter of support for MassMedicum, an Easton-based non-profit to open a similar facility at 185 University Drive.
Both parcels are zoned appropriately, town officials said.
New England Treatment Access in Northampton, which opened in the fall, is the only such a facility in Hampshire County.
According to letter of application, the non-profit Mass Alternative has three license applications pending including one in Chicopee.
According to the letter, they were selected to negotiate a host community agreement there.
The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. in Town Hall
