LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Investment company Low Carbon Accelerator Ltd said it has invested about 1.09 mln stg in Hemcore Ltd taking a 30 pct stake in the company.
The investment was part of an overall 2.6 mln stg funding round led by Low Carbon Accelerator, the company said in a statement.
The funding will allow Hemcore, a grower and processor of industrial hemp, to expand its operations and increase the range of products.
Hemcore expects the investment will help to purchase and install a new operating plant, and grow sales of its recently launched natural fibre insulation product, sold under the 'Breathe' brand name.
