Looking for lighting advice

Hi guys
I’m a DIY grower. Looking for some advice. I haven’t grown in about 5 years.
i have a cabinet about 2x3 and 4 foot high.
I’ve only grown with my homemade cfl light with 10x 42 Watts
I use what I learned as bubbleponics from Roseman about 11 years ago.
I’ve done 6 grows in this setup and usually get about 6oz
I’m growing in an air conditioned room with no real worries about being stealth
If I had to I could ventilate into the garage.

I see a lot of people using leds.
Would those work muchbetter in this cab?
Would they create heat issues?

Would it be worththe trouble of stepping up to an mh/hps?

Would I need to ventilate into the garage?

A single 315CMH would fill that area easily. Max 3'x3' flowering foorprint per bulb. 350w draw at the wall vs your 420w with your cfl setup. Probably the same heat wise as your cfl setup. Full spectrum bulbs work great from veg to flower. Can be had for cheap. I paid $120 for mine.

Nice.
Can you send me a link to exactly what your talking about?
Would I need any additional ventilation?

I can't link to my light because it's not from a site sponsor. Just Google or search your favorite shopping site for 315cmh. Can't say about the ventilator. Mine aren't hot at all. After running all day I can lick the outside of my hood and yes it tastes like snozzberries.

Use LEDs and you won’t need to ventilate anywhere near as much. Lots of great lights through the sponsors here. I use one that draws 200w (called 1000w equiv) for veg and 400w for flower. My light was cheap ($80) and makes almost no heat. You won’t need a massive bulb and ballast to get real weight, my last 2 grows net 15 1/2 oz in a 2x2x4 tent.

Leds tend to be cooler than traditional lights, and in the case of Mars Hydro's leds, we've been working on ways to lower the temperature. For example, an extension cord of 2 meters was added to the power supply, which made it convenient for customers to place the power supply outside the tent, thus reducing the temperature a lot.I recently tried to put SP3000 in the tent, and the temperature outside was 27 degrees. Half an hour later, I tested the temperature inside the tent is 29 degrees. If I take the power supply off and put it outside, the temperature will be even lower.
