A 3% discount is available to members. The coupon code is '420magazine'.

Check out the Mars Hydro distributor/retainer Grow Lights Canada. They have a 1680D 4' X 4' X 7'-8' tent for $280. They have free shipping too. It's a little more than you want to spend, but these are very good tents.

Honestly, here is what I would do: Put some tape over the light leaks as best you can, save your $200 and add to it over the next grow. THEN get a gorilla tent. That heavier material (1680D vs 600D) is well worth the price, plus the weight capacity off the ceiling, strength of the poles, etc.

I am in a similar predicament, and replacing a tent. A tent I haven't even grown in yet. Why? Well, I knew what I was getting into, and thought I would be OK. Surprise, I wasn't and the ceiling wouldn't hold all my gear without bending/stressing the poles. Now I have a gorilla on the way, and won't have to worry about that. The original tent isn't going to go to waste, but had I just sucked it up and bought the gorilla like I knew I should have, I wouldn't have had this problem.

Amazon is giving me my money back so I'm not loosing anything :thumb:
I did look on gorilla's tent, look nice but for 400 cad i feel im paying alot for the brand :(

OK. I can say it now that Gorilla is no longer a sponsor. I think they are overpriced by far.

Clones are available made from 1680D fabric, with the same zippers, 19mm x 0.8mm thick poles and welded corners Gorilla uses. For all I know they are made in the same factory. The Gorilla retails for $358.95 USD / $480 CDN before shipping taxes, and customs. There are two 'net based retailers in Canada I know carry the clones. The prices are $280 CAD / $210 USD and $300 CAD / $225 USD with free shipping, and no customs charges from both retailers. One of them carries the Gorrila tent as well for only $487 CAD with free shipping. Your choice is whether you pay for the brand name, or not.

Personally I wouldn't waste my money on a Gorilla tent... I'm sure they are great, they are the best, they have no light leaks, they can hang my truck from the ceiling... but… I'm not spending 5X the money on a grow tent that will do the exact same thing my current 4x8 is doing for me that only cost $269.99 with free shipping.
If I was a very wealthy man... yeah sure... why not. I have money to waste.
Or if I was growing in a part of my home that is very, very bright from natural light and light leaks are a major concern and I can't be bothered to fix the few light leaks my cheaper tent has.
That's my opinion on Gorilla. Good? yes. Required? not at all.
I would fix the light leaks your current tent has depending on how extreme they may be I suppose.
Also I get a kick out of people who go on about the strength of a grow tent's ceiling. What the heck are people hanging in their tents????? LOL.
I wouldn't hang off the poles in my Vivosun 4x8 but let's be intelligent for a moment... Why do you need to be able to do that lol. There is no grow light suited for a 4x8 space on the market that won't hang from metal tent poles...
I suppose there may be some really, really, fragile tents that can't hold much but I have yet to see one in person.

I paid $300, shipped, for a Gorilla 4x4. Certainly not 5x the cost by any stretch.

At MSRP, sure they are a bit high. That's why it pays to shop around, and starting with our sponsors here.

Light, fan, filter, is what I was doing a test hang on. Poles on the old one were bending enough that I was uncomfortable taking the risk. Some may be, I wasn't. Maybe they would hold, maybe they wouldn't.

Is it the only option? No, it's not. Is it a good option? Yes, it's one of several.

Can you send me link in pm. Of the 2 clones I think it's illegal to post link here

You are right @multiVortex
$740.43. Canadian. plus what ever they would charge for shipping... so probably around $800 for a 4x8 from Gorilla (if shipping is cheap). They must have lowered their prices within the past year because last time I priced a 4x8 with them it was around $1,000.
I'm sure like anything else if you shop hard enough one could potentially find one for less.
My first annalists was incorrect and lacked factual info. In reality a Gorilla 4x8 is only three times the cost of a Vivosun 4x8.
Bottom line... if you "need" to hang very heavy items from your tent's ceiling, or if you have your tent in a bright room and can't be bothered to tidy up a couple light leaks then perhaps the extra expense is worth it for you. To each their own.

Why not some of the Gorilla black tape to fix the light leaks? Then you can save up for a better tent or utilize the money else where. That is what I use in my personal tent if I have a small light leak.

Just a thought to save some $$$
