Lookin for a doctor, Sarnia/London,Ont

Hi all..finding a doctor ? ....it seems to be the biggest hurdle concerning medical marjuana..my family doctor won't even consider helping me. She has been my physican for 30 years. She knows about my medical history. I suffer from migranes, anxiety, leg pain, arthritis. If anyone knows of a doctor PLZ let me know. Thanks[/FONT]

If you find one PLEASE let me know lol, I too am having that problem in Ontario (I know theres docs in toronto, just not who they are)

My doc is an old fashioned guy and firmly opposed to marijuanna, even though i've shown him analytically (I keep a VERY comprehensive qualitative AND quantitative journal) that of the hundred drugs he's tried me on marijuanna is the ONLY ONE that has done anything for the pain !!!!!

wish i had a doc, he retired after sevring me for 25 years. have been looking in london for a while for a permanent rather than walk in type doctors. most are old and dont/wont even recognize the benefits of what we already know! good luck to all!

Wow, sorry your having such a hard time. Have you tried bringing in documentation of the proof behind the benefits of Cannabis to see if that will sway them?

I can't wait until the rest of the world catches up to the USA...It just isn't fair for anyone to struggle to find medicinal marijuana.

Anyways, the whole US thing .... you don't even know!!! lol

Canada WAS the leading 'western nation' in marijuanna reform. In fact in 1998 our Prime Minister at the time (Jean Chretian) vowed not to decriminalize marijuanna but to LEGALIZE IT ENTIRELY. He even admitted that he actively smokes marijuanna ... while he was in power lol. What happened was the US (well the DEA) threatened to put incredibly harsh sanctions on Canada if we did (cuz legal weed in Canada would mean serious cross border probs in the US), and it was near the end of his second term, so it never came to be.

The problem with finding doctors here isn't reform so much as a shortage of doctors and my ability to CHOOSE a doctor cuz our healthcare system is socialist.

PRO: I don't have to pay $1200 for an MRI (seriously WTF $1200 !!! lol)
CON: All funding is federal, there is no private doctors, in the US if you have the $$$ you can find the doc u need no prob, here though .. well, i'm still waiting for a new psychiatrist after like 3 years lol

To add insult to injury we just had a Federal Election 2 weeks ago, and the Conservative party won a majority (I guess you could best compare them to the Republicans).

They DO NOT like drugs or drug reform lol, and are ALREADY trying to shut down our safe injection sites (places in BC where you are provided a safe place to shoot drugs + clean needles + trained medical staff nearby). Controversial for sure, but they also stopped an HIV epidemic occurring in BC in its tracks ...

Anyways, i'm rambling like a fool.

Thanks for the site, i'll see what I can get out of it (problem still is though that my family doc is strongly opposed to any idea of medical marijuanna, so I doubt he would sign a referral to this group), but I guess we'll just have to wait and see heh

Wow, thanks for the fyi on that HiTech. I never knew about the history. Interesting stuff.

The day will come when the Cannabis plant is understood and not feared...the sooner the better!
